Super cute. Expensive, but it's downtown Chicago. The wait to get in wasn't that bad, line was wrapped around building but only took about 25 minutes. Staff was fast and friendly. So many delicious things. The teas were also yummy.

I LOVE hello kitty, and this was a dream come true for me. My dad took me for my birthday and the experience was great! The wait in line wasn’t terribly long and the line moved quickly, I think we were at the front of the line after waiting 15-20 minutes. The security outside of the cafe was very friendly as well and making jokes with people waiting in line and taking pictures for people going in and leaving. He was awesome! When we got into the cafe it was magical, everything was hello kitty and Sanrio themed. Even the bathroom! The cafe is split into three separate sections, one is the cafe area which is in the front of the cafe where you order your food and drinks. Another is on the back wall of the cafe where the merchandise is, they have a adorable selection of stuffed animals of all different Sanrio characters. They had magnets, lanyards, keychains and so much more! What I really liked about the merchandise area is how they displayed the clothes for sale on a clothing rack so you could see the front and back of all the shirts and sweaters. The checkout for the merchandise is in the opposite corner of where the cafe is, which is nice that it’s separate and not crowding all the registers in the front of the cafe. In the middle of the cafe is the sitting area, there was options to sit in a bar type area in front of the window. Then tables in the middle and also booths towards the merchandise checkout area. The drinks are priced decently, around the same price you’d pay at Starbucks or Dunkin. The only complaint I have is that the pastry’s are a little pricey but it is themed food and has fondant decorations on most of them, so I’d assume it takes a while to prep all of that. My dad and I ordered a Bundt cake, cheesecake and two drinks. I got the Bundt cake and it was pretty plain, the cake itself was probably vanilla flavor and the frosting on top was strawberry. It was a little dry, and too sweet for me. My dad and I ordered the melon soda and an iced matcha latte. The melon soda tasted great! 10/10 and my match was good quality! 10/10. Overall this was a dream come true visit for me we had no problems at all, the only thing I have to say is that there is swastikas on the outside of the building which was off putting, but it is an old building.
Went with a bachelorette party to the afternoon tea party. Layla was our server, she was amazing. The other staff Maggie, Eliya, and Heejee were amazing as well. They all went above and beyond. They made a cake for the bride to be and made up a song and sang it to her. The food was delicious. The decor was adorable and I loved that the Photo Booth was free! It was definitely worth the price! I also loved the gift shop.
I had such a great experience at the Hello Kitty Café! 🎀 While the food and drinks were definitely on the pricier side, it was completely worth it for the overall experience. The atmosphere, energy, and adorable décor made the visit so memorable. I tried the desserts and the strawberry iced matcha latte, and everything was delicious. The café has such a fun, cute, and welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy the moment. It’s the perfect spot for Hello Kitty fans, anyone who loves cute cafés, or just someone looking for a unique experience. I also couldn’t leave without getting some souvenirs…I bought a Hello Kitty hoodie and a keychain, which made the visit even more special. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend stopping by!
Everything is so cute here. Service was excellent. Line was a bit long but it was expected on Labor Day weekend. Overall it’s a must see and experience for Hello Kitty lovers.
