Le Grand Café

Very nice and literally gorgeous. We came for an impromptu pre-dinner drinks right as they opened. We stayed in the gorgeous bar area which was separated from the main dining area by a small stage for a live band. We did see a small critter scurry across the floor at one point. Still kind of charming for Paris, ratatouille-style. Staff was super friendly, making excellent drink recommendations. We ordered the cheese soufflé from the appetizers - it had a white creamy sauce reminiscent of a sauce mix we had as kids growing up-which I say affectionately. The soufflé itself was amazingly fluffy with just a hint of cheese. The white truffle slices were pretty but very mild. They gave us a large bread boule I guess since we ordered food and it was fresh and tasty as you would expect. We shamelessly walked around and took many photos since it was pretty empty at the time. No fuss at all.

This is also one of the best places in Paris that we visited. The waiter recommended dishes and wine for us, and they were a perfect 10 out of 10. I ordered the scallops, and it was the most delicious dish I’ve ever had - absolutely fantastic, there are no words to describe it. My husband chose the beef fillet, which he said was also excellent, with no complaints whatsoever. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary bread with butter and radishes, which was quite unusual. For dessert, we had the lemon tart - exactly what you need after a hearty dinner if you’re in the mood for something light. That said, I would happily come back just for the pavlova. I definitely recommend this restaurant: a true Parisian atmosphere, live music, and a luxurious interior. Despite being fully booked, the service was outstanding.

Stunning decor, delicious food, very friendly service! Well earned 5/5. The decor is a pairing of minimal opulence and biophilia which is very pretty and idyllic. The live jazz made for an incredible ambiance. The drinks were great and the lobster linguine I had was better than any ones ive had in recent fine dining restaurants. Altogether, loved the time here. Less touristy than i thought since it’s in the grand palais.
