Deliveroo doesn't publish its commission in France; each restaurant's rate is set in its contract. Public reports put it at roughly 25% to 35% of the order when Deliveroo's riders deliver, and about 14% to 20% when you deliver yourself, so treat these figures as approximate. VAT at 20% is added to its fees.

VAT on the commission
Yes. Deliveroo's French cancellation policy refers to its service fees including VAT, and its Marketer terms quote marketing fees excluding VAT, so VAT is charged on its fees at France's standard rate of 20%. A VAT-registered business can usually deduct it.

You aren't paid for the order and are charged its service fees including VAT, under Deliveroo's French cancellation policy in force since 9 October 2025.
Tablet and photos
Deliveroo's sign-up offer from 25 March to 31 May 2026 gave new restaurants a free tablet and a 25-photo shoot, worth up to €200. Extra photo packs cost €79 for 15 photos up to €478 for 125, including VAT.

Worth knowing
DoorDash completed its takeover of Deliveroo on 2 October 2025. The announcement didn't mention any change to restaurant fees.
Since January 2026, Deliveroo has given every restaurant in France a score for service, ratings and how far its app prices sit above its restaurant prices, and promotes those that offer good value. Restaurants still set their own prices.
Deliveroo's French partner site offers delivery by its riders (Core), delivery by your own riders (Marketplace+) and its shared Editions kitchens, which charge a single percentage. It sends pricing questions to an account manager.
