How do I remove my restaurant from Just Eat? (UK guide)
Updated 19 October 2026
Short answer: Just Eat doesn't offer a public "delete my restaurant" button. To leave, contact your Just Eat account manager or partner support and give notice in the way your Restaurant Agreement says. Just Eat's partner help points leaving partners to their account manager. Until your exit date, you can pause orders in Partner Hub. Settle your final invoice and return any Just Eat equipment.
If you just need a break, you don't have to leave. If you're selling the business, use Just Eat's change of ownership process instead.
Checked 11 October 2026. Just Eat's restaurant agreement isn't public, and its partner help pages now sit behind the Partner Hub log-in. Your agreement is the final word.

| Closing the business | Give notice, settle the final invoice, return equipment, tell your council | Just Eat + your local council |
How to go offline on Just Eat (temporary)
Just Eat's UK partner help describes these steps. Labels can change, so follow what you see on screen:
- Log in to the Partner Hub app or website.
- On Home, switch off Taking orders.
- You'll see a message that you're offline until tomorrow. You come back online automatically the next day.
Longer break? Update your hours under Business settings → Opening hours, or send a message under Business help in Partner Hub and choose the "Extend Temp Offline" topic. Just Eat says it usually replies within 24 hours.
How to leave Just Eat: step by step
1. Read your Restaurant Agreement. Find the notice period, how notice must be given (email, letter, form), any minimum term, and the equipment terms. Just Eat doesn't publish these for UK restaurants, so your copy matters.
2. Line up your replacement orders first. Leaving cuts off every Just Eat customer at once. Set up your own ordering page and start moving regulars a few weeks before your exit date (see below).
3. Give notice in writing. Contact your account manager, or use the partner support route in Partner Hub. Ask for:
- written confirmation of your exit date
- the date your listing goes offline
- how and when you'll get your final payout
4. Keep trading until the exit date. Unless agreed otherwise, keep accepting orders and meeting service standards until then.
5. Return the Orderpad and printer if they belong to Just Eat. Just Eat doesn't publish its return terms or charges, so ask how to send them back, and keep proof of postage.
6. Check your final invoice and payout. Just Eat invoices every Tuesday and pays every Friday. Check refunds, commission and any fees on the last one or two statements.
7. Download your records. Save invoices and reports for your accounts. HMRC expects you to keep VAT records for at least 6 years.
8. Update your listings. Remove Just Eat links from your Google Business Profile, website and social media. Point them to your own ordering link.
Things you can't take with you
- Just Eat customer data. Names, numbers and addresses from Just Eat orders were collected for those orders. Don't add them to your own marketing list. Texting or emailing them without consent can also breach UK GDPR and PECR.
- Just Eat photos and branding. Only reuse photos you own.
- Your Just Eat reviews. They stay on Just Eat. Build new reviews on Google.
Before you leave: think about switching tier instead
Many takeaways don't need to leave Just Eat. They need to stop paying high commission on regulars.
- Just Eat delivers: 30% + VAT per order.
- Own drivers: 14% + VAT per order.
On a £25 order, moving from 30% to 14% saves £4.00 commission plus 80p VAT. If Just Eat still brings you new customers, keep it for discovery and move regulars to a channel you own. See Just Eat alternatives and our Just Eat commission breakdown.
How to keep your orders when you leave Just Eat
Do this before your exit date:
- Set up your own ordering page with collection and delivery. Menuthere takes 0% commission, and the Free plan covers 50 orders a month. See our takeaway ordering system
- Tag allergens on every dish. Menuthere lets you tag the 14 UK allergens, calories and a halal mark on each dish, on every plan including Free, and customers see them when they open it. Keep an allergen matrix too
- Put a QR code on the counter, window, menus and bags for orders you take yourself
- Add your link to Google Business Profile, Instagram and Facebook
- Turn on card payments through your own Stripe account (Lite and above)
- Offer reorders on WhatsApp: customers send "Hi" and tap Order Now (a Pro feature; Meta bills your own WhatsApp account per message, with no markup from Menuthere). See WhatsApp ordering
- Busy with weekly regulars? Your own takeaway app, with loyalty points and push offers, is on the Branded App plan (US$99 a month, store fees included)
- Track direct orders weekly for 6–8 weeks before you switch Just Eat off

Leaving another app?
The steps are similar on every platform: read the agreement, give written notice, return equipment and move regulars first. Deliveroo's terms set 30 days' written notice. Uber Eats uses a one-year term that renews automatically, with exit terms in your order form. Compare all three in Just Eat vs Deliveroo vs Uber Eats. Thinking of joining again later?
