How much does Rappi charge restaurants in Brazil?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Updated
Rappi has two models for restaurants in Brazil. With your own delivery, Rappi charges 3.5% per order plus a one-off R$40 joining fee. With Rappi handling delivery, the commission is 27% per order plus a R$150 joining fee. A marketplace brings reach, but your own ordering channel keeps 0% commission on every order.
- Own-delivery model: 3.5% per order plus a R$40 joining fee, deducted from your first payout.
- Rappi-delivery model: 27% per order plus a R$150 joining fee, payable in instalments.
- The joining fee is one-off; the commission is charged on every single order.
- Menuthere is 0% commission on every plan, with your own site, QR codes and WhatsApp ordering.
Use Rappi for reach, your own link for regulars
Keep a marketplace like Rappi for discovery, and give repeat customers a Menuthere ordering link with 0% commission. Payments land in your own account; Menuthere never takes a cut of the order.
What are Rappi's two models?
Rappi offers restaurants two commercial formats. In the first, you deliver the order yourself and Rappi charges a payment-processing rate of 3.5% per order. In the second, Rappi handles the delivery and charges a 27% commission. The format you pick changes both the per-order cost and who moves the food.
| Model | Per order | Joining fee |
|---|---|---|
| Your own delivery | 3.5% | R$40 (from first payout) |
| Rappi delivery | 27% | R$150 (in instalments) |
| Your own channel (Menuthere) | 0% | $0 on the Free plan |
How does the joining fee work?
The joining fee is charged once when you sign up, not per order. On the own-delivery model it is R$40, taken from your first payout. On the Rappi-delivery model it is R$150, which can be split into instalments. After that, the per-order commission is what you keep paying on every sale.
Is Rappi cheaper than iFood?
It depends on the model. Rappi's own-delivery rate of 3.5% is below iFood's combined 15.2% on its Basic plan, but Rappi's full-service 27% is close to iFood's 26.2% on the Delivery plan. Either way, a marketplace charges per order while your own channel charges a flat monthly fee and 0% commission.
Who this is a good fit for
- Restaurants that want the reach of a marketplace but also a commission-free channel for repeat orders.
- Owners who can run their own delivery and prefer Rappi's lower own-delivery rate.
Who this is not for
- A brand-new place with no customer base yet: a marketplace can bring the first orders while you build your own channel.
- Owners who need the marketplace to handle every delivery and accept the higher 27% rate for it.
Common follow-up questions
Does Rappi charge a monthly fee?
Rappi's published model charges a per-order rate plus a one-off joining fee, not a fixed monthly fee like iFood's plans. Always confirm the current terms on Rappi's merchant page before signing up.
Can I use Rappi and my own ordering link together?
Yes. Many restaurants keep Rappi for discovery and send repeat customers to their own commission-free link. The marketplace brings new people; your own channel keeps the margin on regulars.
What does 0% commission actually mean on Menuthere?
Menuthere takes no percentage of your order value on any plan. You pay a flat plan fee (or nothing on Free), plus whatever your payment gateway charges to process a card or PIX. That gateway fee is not Menuthere's.
