Is delivery-app commission lower if I deliver the orders myself?

On apps that publish rates, yes. Uber Eats US charges 15% for own delivery against 25 to 30% when it delivers. Uber Eats UK charges 13% against 30%. Card fees and VAT may be extra.
- Just Eat UK: 14% for own delivery against 30%, plus 20% VAT on the fee.
- Grubhub US: 5 to 20% for own delivery against 15 to 30%, plus a card fee of 3.05% + 0.30.
- Uber Eats: pickup is 7% in the US and 13% in the UK. In the UK, 20% VAT is added to the fee.
- Even the lower rate is a cut of every order.
Keep the whole food bill
Take the same orders on your own Menuthere link with 0% commission and deliver them yourself, so you keep the whole food bill apart from the payment gateway's fee.
