Restaurant loyalty program in India: points that bring regulars back
Updated October 20, 2026
A loyalty program only works if it's built into the ordering, not bolted on as yet another app. Menuthere's loyalty is points-based and lives inside your own ordering page: every completed order earns a set percentage back as points, and customers spend those points on later orders. You set the rate, the minimum order and the redeem limits — separately for delivery, takeaway and dine-in. No separate loyalty app, no commission, and it's included on the Pro plan.
In short
- Points-based: customers earn a percentage of each order back as points and redeem them on future orders (1 point = ₹1).
- You set the rules: earn rate, minimum order to earn, max bill coverage (%), and minimum points to redeem.
- Per order type: separate rules and switches for delivery, takeaway and dine-in.
- No separate app: points show at checkout for customers who have a balance, inside your own ordering page.
- Loyalty is a Pro feature; ordering itself is 0% commission on every plan.
How Menuthere loyalty points work
Loyalty lives under Promotions → Loyalty. Once it's enabled for your store, you set, for each order type:
| Setting | What it controls | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Earn rate | % of the order earned as points | 2% |
| Minimum order to earn | Smallest bill that earns | ₹200 |
| Max bill coverage (%) | How much of a bill points can pay | 50% |
| Minimum points to redeem | Points needed before redeeming | 20 |
With a 2% earn rate, a ₹500 delivery order earns 10 points (1 point = ₹1). Each order type has its own switch — "Give points on delivery orders", and so on — so you can run loyalty on delivery only, dine-in only, or all three.
Why points beat a stamp card or a third-party app
- No extra app for the customer. Points appear at checkout on your own ordering page; there's nothing new to download.
- No commission. Menuthere takes 0% on orders, so loyalty isn't eating into a margin a marketplace already took.
- It rewards the behaviour you want: ordering direct from you, not through Zomato or Swiggy.
- You control the economics. The earn rate and max bill coverage are yours to set and change.
Many India loyalty tools charge a monthly fee on top of your ordering system. Menuthere's loyalty is part of the Pro plan — see pricing.
A worked example
Say you want regulars to come back without giving away too much:
- Earn rate 3%, minimum order ₹200, max bill coverage 25%, minimum 50 points to redeem.
- A customer spends ₹600 → earns 18 points.
- Over a month of ordering, they build ~150 points.
- On their next ₹800 order, they can cover up to ₹200 (25%) with points.
They come back to spend points; you keep the direct relationship and pay no commission.

FAQs
How does a Menuthere loyalty program work?
It's points-based. Every completed order earns a percentage of the order back as points, and customers spend points on later orders (1 point = ₹1). You set the earn rate, the minimum order to earn, how much of a bill points can cover, and the minimum points needed to redeem — separately for delivery, takeaway and dine-in.
Do customers need a separate loyalty app?
No. Points appear at checkout on your own ordering page for customers who have a balance. There's no separate app to download.
Which plan includes loyalty points?
Loyalty points are on the Pro plan. The ordering page itself starts free, and Menuthere takes 0% commission on orders on every plan.
Can I run loyalty on dine-in only?
Yes. Each order type — delivery, takeaway and dine-in — has its own switch and its own rules, so you can give points on just one, two or all three.
How much does a restaurant loyalty program cost in India?
With Menuthere, loyalty is included in the Pro plan rather than charged as a separate monthly tool. You pay your plan fee and your own payment-gateway charges; there's no commission on orders.
