Do I need to show allergens on my online food ordering website?
Updated 14 October 2026
In England, Northern Ireland and Wales, yes: the FSA says food sold online needs allergen information before the purchase is completed and when the food is delivered.
- Before the order: show allergen information on your website or menu.
- At delivery: give it again, for example on a sticker, an enclosed menu or verbally.
- Other countries have their own rules, so check yours.
- Bakeries and cafés: list allergens for each item, and put a note in the bag.
Put details on every dish
Add each dish to your Menuthere menu with a description, so customers read the details before they order. Orders land in your dashboard.
