Should I upload my menu to my website as a PDF or type it in?
Updated 15 October 2026
Type it in as text. Squarespace says embedded PDF menus "aren't always as SEO-friendly as text directly on the page".
- Text on the page is easier to read on a phone and easier to change when prices change.
- Keep a PDF only as an extra, for printing.
- On Google, your menu must list your full food and drink offer, not just popular items.
- A menu link on Google cannot point straight to a delivery app's page.
Never retype your menu
Menuthere turns a photo or PDF of your menu into a typed menu with prices, photos and sizes, ready for customers to order from straight away.
