Why is my domain cheap in the first year but expensive to renew?
Updated 12 October 2026
Many registrars sell the first year at a sale price and renew at the normal price. Check the renewal price before you buy.
- A .restaurant domain was $12.87 for the first year at Porkbun, then $52.01 a year after.
- A .com at AEserver was AED 49 the first year and AED 65 on renewal.
- Registrars must show renewal, late-renewal and restore fees when you register, so look for them.
- Cloudflare Registrar charges only the registry and ICANN price, with no markup.
Put your own domain on your ordering site
Connect your own domain to your Menuthere ordering website, so customers order from your own web address.
