How long does WhatsApp take to approve a message template?
Updated 7 October 2026
Meta says an approval decision can take up to 24 hours. Plan order-update templates a day before you need them.
- If a template is rejected, edit it, add a sample and resubmit it as an appeal.
- Meta reviews the appeal and makes a decision within 24 hours.
- Up to 24 hours is the stated time for a decision, so do not leave a new template to the last minute.
Skip the template paperwork
Menuthere submits the templates its automatic order updates need to Meta for you, so you do not write them or fill in the forms yourself.
