How aggregator commission works
Zomato and Swiggy structure their fees the same way. Knowing each line is the only way to read a payout statement — and to see what a direct order is worth.
A percentage of the order value, set in your partner contract. Most Indian restaurants pay 18–30% on Zomato and Swiggy; where you land depends on your city, cuisine, order volume and whether you take the platform's own delivery.
18% GST is charged on the commission itself — so a 25% commission really costs 29.5% before anything else is taken. This line is easy to miss because it sits on the invoice, not the contract.
Both platforms deduct a fee of roughly 1.8–2% on every order for collecting the customer's payment — on top of the commission, and whether the customer paid by UPI or card.
Offers you co-fund and sponsored listings you buy to stay visible. Not every restaurant runs them, but for those that do this is often the line that turns a thin margin into a loss.
The calculator
Use the rates on your own Zomato or Swiggy contract if you have them — the defaults are the middle of what Indian restaurants report paying.

One ₹400 order on an aggregator
The platform keeps 31.5% of every order — ₹75,600 a month, or ₹9,07,200 a year at your volume.
The same order on your own ordering page
Moving 180 orders a month (30%) to your own link keeps ₹21,240 a month in your business — ₹2,54,880 a year.
Figures are estimates from the numbers you enter. Aggregator contracts differ by city, cuisine and plan, and platforms change their fees — your partner dashboard and monthly payout statement are the source of truth. Cash and pay-at-counter orders on your own page carry no gateway fee at all. See how the direct side works on commission-free online ordering.
A Zomato and Swiggy alternative for your regulars
Aggregators are good at finding you new customers. They are an expensive way to serve the ones who already know you. Give those regulars a direct way to order and the commission on every one of their orders stays in your business.
