The best online ordering systems for pizza shops, scored

A pizza shop lives on delivery and pickup orders, so an ordering system that handles its own drivers and takes a flat fee rather than a cut of every order matters most. These seven take online orders for pizzerias, and most charge the restaurant no per-order commission; two were built for pizza and delivery operators. Published prices start at $17 a month, and several support the shop's own delivery drivers.

The plans include online payment by PayPal and Stripe (with Apple Pay and Google Pay), and Expert adds Edenred meal vouchers. The partners page also lists Worldline, PayGreen, Braintree, Payvector, Worldpay, Global Payments and Paymentsense, and the UK pricing page names Stripe, Ingenico and PayGreen. The home page says 12 million orders and €400 million have gone through LivePepper.
  • Plan prices for France and the UK are not shown, only 'from €59 a month', and the site asks for a demo booking. Setup costs from €299 in France (from €399 on the UK page), Premium setup in France is on quote, and the mobile app has an extra setup fee.
  • Many features cost extra. Delivery, loyalty and multi-site need the Expert plan. POS integration, a multilingual site, menu entry, premium support and multi-site setup are paid optional services. Payment partners' fees are extra and not published.

The restaurant connects its own gateway account and receives the money directly. Ressto lists Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, SumUp, Xendit, Authorize.Net, Clover, USAePay, CardConnect and Bambora (Worldline), plus cash on delivery and pay at counter. Deonde's FAQ adds PayFort, Telr, Paystack, Flutterwave, MTN Mobile Money, M-Pesa, Apple Pay and Google Pay, saying gateways vary by region, and its country pages mention GCash and Maya (Philippines) and Lanka QR (Sri Lanka). • The Scale plan ($99 per restaurant a month) includes a branded iOS and Android app published under the restaurant's name, a loyalty programme, and delivery management with a driver app and live tracking (Ressto pricing page).

  • The branded app, loyalty, delivery management and driver app are only on Scale ($99 per restaurant a month), and POS integration is not in Basic, Growth or Scale; Ressto's POS page says it is available on custom plans.
  • Deonde's own pages disagree on plan details: the Basic menu-item limit is 50 on deonde.co but 200 on ressto.co, and the Ressto FAQ describes a $39 'Pro' plan with a branded app, while the pricing page puts the app in the $99 Scale plan.

How we scored them

Every score, so you can check the order.

Ranked by total score. Menuthere and Deonde tie on 8; Menuthere is our product, so Deonde would take the tie, but both sit below HungerRush, which scores 7 yet leads because it alone was built for pizza and delivery operators and the other criteria weigh cost and contract that matter less to a shop buying POS and hardware together — so this list opens with the two pizza-built systems (HungerRush, then Menuthere second as our product) and then by score. Ties are broken by whether pizza is named and the lowest price to start.

When a rival is the better choice

Pick another system over Menuthere if…

  • HungerRush: You are a US pizzeria that wants POS, online ordering and driver dispatch from one vendor and are happy to sign a 36-month agreement for locked pricing and hardware.
  • LivePepper: You are a pizzeria in France, the UK or Ireland and want a branded ordering site and app set up for you at a published monthly price.
  • UpMenu: You want the store set up for you, a branded-app module and loyalty in the same commission-free platform, paid per location.
  • Flipdish: You want the website, app, kiosks and POS from one supplier, and a 12-month contract with per-order fees set in the agreement is acceptable.
  • Slice: You are a US pizzeria that wants online, phone and in-store ordering and marketing from one provider, and a flat per-order fee suits your volume.
  • Deonde: You want to grow from a free commission-free site into a branded app and your own drivers on one platform, in a country Deonde serves.

How we chose them

What put a system on this list.

  • A system qualifies if its dated profile on Menuthere shows an ordering website with delivery, it is active, and it either names pizza or pizzerias in its own text or is a commission-free ordering system that suits a delivery-led takeaway.
  • Each system is scored on five criteria worth up to 2 points each (10 in all). The rubric and every score are in the table above, and each point comes from a fact in the system's profile.
  • Card processing is left out of the scores because every system charges it. Prices are each company's published prices on the date in its profile.
  • Nobody paid to be on this list. Prices change: check each company's own page before you sign.

Questions

Answered, plainly.

It depends on your country and whether you want a POS too. HungerRush and Slice were built for US pizzerias, with POS and driver dispatch. For a flat-fee, commission-free ordering page with your own drivers, Menuthere (Pro, $39 a month) fits; LivePepper suits pizzerias in France, the UK and Ireland; Flipdish and UpMenu suit takeaways across Europe; Deonde starts free.

All seven here support the shop's own drivers in some form. Menuthere (Pro) and Deonde (Scale) include a driver app with no per-delivery fee; HungerRush dispatches your drivers plus DoorDash Drive and Uber Direct; UpMenu, Flipdish, Slice and LivePepper all handle delivery with your staff.

Most charge a subscription, not a commission. HungerRush, Menuthere, LivePepper, UpMenu and Deonde take 0% commission on direct orders. Slice charges no percentage but a flat per-order fee ($2–$3), and Flipdish takes its own fees on each order at a rate set in the agreement. Card processing is separate.

Menuthere's free plan includes 50 orders a month at 0% commission, and Deonde's Basic plan is free for 100 orders a month (cash only). For a delivery-led pizzeria that wants its own drivers and online payments, a low paid plan — Menuthere Lite at $17, UpMenu at $49 — is usually the step up.

Menuthere's free plan and Lite ($17 a month) are the lowest cost to start, and Deonde has a free plan. Among delivery-ready paid plans, LivePepper is from €59, UpMenu from $49, Slice from $39 plus a per-order fee, and HungerRush from $149 all-in on a 36-month agreement.
