The best WhatsApp marketing software for restaurants in 2026: 7 tools, honestly compared
Updated 19 October 2026
Disclosure: Menuthere is our product, and it's on this list. We've tried to be fair. Every competitor price below comes from the company's own pricing page, checked on 11 October 2026. Where a page didn't show a figure, we say so rather than guess. Meta's per-message fees are separate on every tool, including ours.
The best WhatsApp marketing software for a restaurant depends on whether you also want WhatsApp ordering. If you do, pick a restaurant tool such as Menuthere, which joins offers, automations and ordering on one number. If you only need a team inbox and broadcasts, respond.io, SleekFlow and WATI are strong general tools. Callbell is the cheapest per seat, Twilio suits developers, and the free WhatsApp Business app is fine for very small lists.
Every WhatsApp offer needs somewhere to order. (0% commission).

What to look for in WhatsApp marketing software (for a restaurant)
- Official WhatsApp Business Platform. Unofficial "bulk sender" tools break WhatsApp's rules and get numbers banned.
- Your own number. Your regulars already know it. Check you can keep it if you leave.
- How message fees are billed. Some tools pass Meta's fees through. Others use their own rate card, which may add a margin. Compare their card with Meta's UK rates.
- Opt-out handling. "STOP" should remove people automatically. UK PECR requires a working opt-out.
- Automations that matter for food. Abandoned carts, comebacks, birthday offers, order updates.
- A link to order. An offer without a one-tap order link wastes the message.
- Pricing model. Per seat, per contact (monthly active contacts) or flat. A takeaway with five staff and 2,000 customers can pay very different amounts.
- UK GDPR. Ask for a data processing agreement and where data is stored.
- Support hours. Friday night is when things break. Check support covers UK evenings.
The 7 best WhatsApp marketing tools for restaurants
1. Menuthere: best for restaurants that want marketing and ordering in one
This is our product.
Menuthere is a commission-free ordering platform for restaurants, takeaways, cafés, bakeries and dark kitchens. Menuthere is an official Meta Tech Provider. Its WhatsApp tools sit on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, connected to your own number through Meta's Embedded Signup.
What you get for marketing (Pro):
- WhatsApp broadcasts to opted-in customers. Anyone who replies STOP goes on a blocklist and never gets another broadcast
- A no-code flow builder, with a library of ready-made flows
- Abandoned-cart and payment-failed reminders, and comeback messages for lapsed customers
- Loyalty points (coupons and discount codes start on Lite)
- An inbox in your dashboard to read and reply to customer chats
- WhatsApp ordering on the same number: customers send "Hi", tap Order Now and order from your menu. Updates (placed, accepted, ready, out for delivery with tracking, completed) send automatically.
Pricing: Free plan (50 orders/month, no WhatsApp API). Lite US$17/month. Pro US$39/month, which includes the WhatsApp API features. Plans are billed in US dollars; your bank converts it. 7-day free trial on Lite and Pro with a card; nothing is charged until the trial ends. 0% commission on orders. Meta bills its message fees to your own WhatsApp Business account, and Menuthere adds no markup.
Want push notifications as well as WhatsApp? The Branded App plan (US$99 a month) adds your own app on Google Play and the App Store, with unlimited push notifications. See the restaurant app builder.
Pros
- Built for food: offers link straight to your own menu and checkout
- Ordering, updates and marketing on one number
- Flat monthly price, not per seat
- 0% commission on orders
Cons
- Not a general multichannel inbox (no email or TikTok inbox like respond.io)
- WhatsApp API features need Pro; plans are priced in US dollars, not £
- Fewer integrations than big general platforms; no UK EPOS integrations
Best for: takeaways, restaurants and multi-site groups that want WhatsApp to bring in orders, not just chats. More: WhatsApp marketing for restaurants.
2. respond.io: best for larger teams and many channels
respond.io is an AI-led customer conversation platform covering WhatsApp, other chat apps, email and calls. It's strong on workflows, routing and reporting.
Pricing (respond.io/pricing, 11 Oct 2026, US$):
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Users | Broadcasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $79/month ($948/yr) | $99/month | 5 (+$12/user) | No |
| Growth | $159/month ($1,908/yr) | $199/month | 10 (+$20/user) | Yes |
| Advanced | $279/month ($3,348/yr) | $349/month | 10 (+$24/user) | Yes |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | Yes |
Growth and Advanced start at 1,000 monthly active contacts, with extra contacts charged. WhatsApp fees aren't included: you top up credit and Meta charges for usage. 7-day free trial, no card.
Pros: powerful workflows and AI agents; many channels in one inbox; good reporting. Cons: broadcasts start on Growth, so real marketing costs at least $159/month before Meta fees; no ordering or menu; more than most single-site restaurants need. Best for: restaurant groups with a central customer team.
3. SleekFlow: best general tool with a UK site
SleekFlow has an en-GB site and a UK pricing view. It combines a shared inbox, AI agents, broadcasts and a flow builder.
Pricing (sleekflow.io/en-gb/pricing, UK location, 11 Oct 2026, US$):
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Users | Broadcasts and flow builder |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $49/month ($588/yr) | $69/month | 3 | No (rolling out by country) |
| Pro | $109/month ($1,308/yr) | $139/month | 10 | Yes |
| Premium | $279/month ($3,348/yr) | $349/month | 10 | Yes |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Yes |
Monthly prices are worked out from the yearly list prices shown on the page ($828, $1,668 and $4,188 a year when billed monthly). WhatsApp adds a US$15/month number hosting fee, and messages are charged per SleekFlow's rate card. 7-day free trial of Pro, no card.
Pros: UK-facing site; broadcasts and flow builder on Pro; Shopify, Google Sheets and Zapier links. Cons: marketing starts at $109/month plus hosting and message fees; contact limits; no ordering. Best for: restaurants that also sell online or run events and want one general inbox.
4. WATI: best for simple broadcasts and a quick start
WATI is one of the best-known WhatsApp API tools for small businesses. It has a team inbox, a chatbot builder and bulk campaigns.
Pricing: WATI shows plan prices in your local currency, based on where you are, so check wati.io/pricing from the UK for today's figures. There are three plans: Growth, Pro and Business, billed monthly, quarterly or yearly (yearly saves up to 25%). Growth includes 3 users with no extra seats. Pro includes 5 users (+US$24 per extra user). Business includes 5 users (+US$69 per extra user). Template messages are charged on WATI's own rate card. 7-day free trial.
Pros: easy to start; broadcasts on the entry plan (15,000 a month on Growth); Shopify features if you sell products. Cons: you pay WATI's rate card, so compare it with Meta's UK rates; Growth is capped at 3 users; no menu ordering. Best for: small teams that mainly want to send offers.
5. Callbell: best price per seat
Callbell is a European shared-inbox tool for WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and TikTok.
Pricing (callbell.eu/en/pricing, 11 Oct 2026, US$):
- Multiagent Chat: $15 per user/month. WhatsApp from $22/month (consumable credits).
- Multiagent Chat Plus: $20 per user/month (adds API, advanced stats, verified WhatsApp request).
- Broadcast/campaign module: $0.02 per contact reached.
- Advanced bot builder: $65.55/month.
- Extra channel accounts: $22/month each.
- 7-day trial, no card. Euro pricing is also available.
Pros: cheap for 1–3 staff; pay-as-you-go broadcasts; simple to use. Cons: add-ons stack up; the pricing page doesn't say whether WhatsApp credits or the $0.02 broadcast fee include Meta's fees, so ask before you sign up; no ordering. Best for: small cafés and restaurants that mainly need a shared inbox, with occasional offers.
6. Twilio: best for developers building their own system
Twilio is a communications API, not a ready-made marketing app. You or a developer build the screens and logic.
Pricing (twilio.com WhatsApp pricing, 11 Oct 2026, US$): $0.005 per message, inbound or outbound, on top of Meta's fees, which Twilio passes through. Failed messages cost $0.001. No monthly fee. Link shortening, click tracking and scheduling are $0.015 per message after the first 1,000 a month. Free trial, no card.
Pros: total flexibility; transparent per-message pricing; scales to any size. Cons: needs a developer; no inbox, campaigns or menus out of the box; you build opt-out handling yourself. Best for: restaurant groups with a tech team or their own app.
7. WhatsApp Business app: best free option
The free app from Meta lets you send broadcast lists of up to 256 people. Only people who've saved your number receive them. WhatsApp is also rolling out paid "marketing messages" (called business broadcasts in some places) inside the app, but only in a limited number of countries so far. If you don't see it in your app's tools, it isn't available to you yet.
Pros: free; no setup. Cons: 256 per list; contacts must save your number; one phone plus four linked devices; no automation; manual opt-outs. Best for: new or very small businesses. See WhatsApp Business app vs API.
Not on this list: Interakt
Interakt ranks for "WhatsApp marketing software" in UK search results, but its pricing is in Indian rupees and the UK isn't among the regions it lists. We've left it out for UK restaurants.
What it really costs: a worked example
The takeaway: 600 orders a month, five staff, 1,500 opted-in customers, two offers a month (3,000 marketing messages).
Meta's marketing fees are the same whichever tool you use: 3,000 × £0.0458 = £137.40 (Meta's GBP rate card from 1 July 2026), unless a tool uses its own higher rate card.
| Tool | Software per month (published, ex VAT) | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Menuthere Pro | US$39 | Meta fees direct, no markup. Ordering and order updates included |
| respond.io Growth | US$199 monthly (US$159 yearly) | Meta fees. Extra contacts above 1,000 |
| SleekFlow Pro | US$139 monthly (US$109 yearly) + US$15 hosting | SleekFlow rate card |
| WATI Pro (5 users) | Local-currency price on wati.io | WATI rate card |
| Callbell (5 users + WhatsApp + broadcasts) | 5 × $15 + $22 + 3,000 × $0.02 = US$157 | Ask whether Meta's fees are included |
| Twilio | 3,000 × $0.005 = US$15 | Meta fees, plus developer time |
Order updates (placed, ready, out for delivery) are utility messages at £0.0159 each on any tool. They're free when sent within 24 hours of the customer's last message, so updates for orders that start with a WhatsApp chat usually cost nothing. Updates for orders placed on your website are charged: at 4–5 updates per order, 600 such orders add roughly £38–48 a month. Free-form replies to customers (service messages) are free for the first 1,000 a month per number, then charged. See WhatsApp Business API pricing in the UK or try the WhatsApp cost calculator.
How we chose
- Included: tools on the official WhatsApp Business Platform with a public price, a self-serve trial or plan, and features a restaurant would use (broadcasts, inbox, automation).
- Checked: pricing pages on 11 October 2026, from a UK location where the site allowed it.
- Not judged: we didn't run paid tests of every tool. We compared published features and prices.
- Fairness: we list Menuthere's weaknesses too. If a competitor's price has changed, tell us and we'll update this page.
Rules apply whichever tool you choose
Software doesn't make marketing legal. In the UK, PECR and UK GDPR apply to WhatsApp offers: get consent (or use the soft opt-in for existing customers), add an opt-out to every message, and act on STOP quickly. Read UK GDPR and PECR for WhatsApp marketing.
Want offers that turn into orders? then add WhatsApp marketing and ordering with Pro. See also the.
FAQs
What is the best WhatsApp marketing software for restaurants?
If you also want customers to order through WhatsApp, a restaurant tool like Menuthere is the best fit. For a general team inbox with broadcasts, respond.io, SleekFlow and WATI are popular choices.
Is there free WhatsApp marketing software?
The WhatsApp Business app is free and lets you send broadcast lists of up to 256 people who've saved your number. Most API tools have free trials, but not free marketing plans. Meta charges per marketing message on the API.
Do WhatsApp marketing tools include Meta's message fees?
Usually not. Most tools charge a subscription and either pass Meta's fees through or bill them on their own rate card. Check which before you sign up.
How much does WhatsApp marketing software cost?
From free (the app) to several hundred dollars a month. Restaurant-ready plans with broadcasts start at about US$39–160 a month, plus Meta's fees of about £0.046 per marketing message to UK numbers.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API for marketing?
For more than a few hundred customers, yes. The API lets you message any opted-in customer, even if they haven't saved your number, and automate offers.
Can I keep my own number with WhatsApp marketing software?
With most official tools, yes. You connect your own number. Check you can move it if you switch providers.
Is bulk WhatsApp sender software allowed?
Unofficial bulk-sender tools break WhatsApp's terms and can get your number banned. Use a tool on the official WhatsApp Business Platform.
Should I use a WhatsApp marketing agency?
An agency can write campaigns, but you still need software and opted-in customers. Many restaurants start with templates and do it themselves.
