Your own restaurant app, built and published for you
Updated 19 October 2026
A restaurant app builder lets a restaurant put its own app, with its name and icon, on the App Store and Google Play. With most builders you design, test and submit the app yourself. Menuthere's Branded App plan does it for you: we build your Android and iOS app, publish it under your restaurant's name, and connect it to your menu, orders and customers. It costs US$99 a month (US$990 a year billed yearly), billed in US dollars, and we take 0% commission on your orders. There's nothing to pay at signup.
In short
- Your app, your name: a customer app for Android and iOS, under your restaurant's name and icon, on Google Play and the App Store.
- Built and published for you: no builder to learn and no developer to hire. Apple's and Google's developer fees are included.
- Customers order, pay, collect points and reorder in your app, and track their delivery live when you use your own riders.
- Push notifications included: order updates go straight to customers' phones, and you can send unlimited offers and announcements.
- Everything in Pro behind it: WhatsApp ordering on your own number, loyalty points, your own delivery riders, advanced analytics and several outlets.
- US$99 a month, 0% commission. Nothing to pay at signup; you pay the first month before we build, and your month only starts counting when the app goes live.
What you get with a Menuthere branded app
| You get | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your own app on Android and iOS | Your restaurant's name and icon on Google Play and the App Store. Customers search for you, not for a marketplace. Apple's and Google's developer fees are included. |
| Ordering in the app | Customers browse your menu, order and pay in the app, and reorder a past order in a tap. |
| Loyalty and live tracking | Customers see their loyalty points in the app and track their delivery live when you use your own riders. |
| Order updates on customers' phones | Each order's status (accepted, ready, on the way) is pushed to the customer's phone. |
| Unlimited push notifications | Write a title and message, add an image, and send it to all app users or to followers only. Send it now, schedule it, or repeat it daily or weekly. |
| Everything in Pro | WhatsApp Business API on your own number, loyalty points, your own riders with live tracking, advanced analytics and several outlets. |
| One dashboard | The app runs on the same menu, orders and customers as your ordering website. Change a price once and it changes everywhere. |
| Staff app included | Your team takes orders on the Menuthere partner app for Android and iPhone. It rings until each order is accepted. |
| Dedicated support | A dedicated support contact for your store and an onboarding call. |
How it works
- Press Get your app. Sign up with the Branded App plan (it's also on our pricing page) and create your store. Nothing is paid at signup. Want to talk first? Press Questions? Talk to us under the button, or book a call.
- Add 10 dishes with photos. Set up your menu in the dashboard. Once at least 10 dishes have a photo, Register App switches on.
- Register your app and book a call with Menuthere's founder. We go through your app with you: name, icon and colours.
- Pay the first month and send your details. After the call you pay the first month, US$99, in advance. Then send your app's name, a square icon (a PNG of at least 1024 × 1024 pixels), your brand colour and a one-line description.
- We build and publish it. Menuthere builds your app, publishes it on Google Play and the App Store, and tells you when it's live. Your subscription starts counting from that day.

Restaurant app builder vs agency vs ordering platform: what it costs in the UK
There are four ways to get a restaurant app in the UK. Competitor figures are from each company's own website, checked on 19 October 2026, and are shown as published (Flipdish's are ex VAT). Prices change, so check theirs before you decide.
| Option | What you pay | Who builds and publishes the app | Fees on orders |
|---|---|---|---|
| DIY app builder (Appy Pie, GoodBarber, Adalo and similar) | A monthly or yearly plan, often a higher tier to publish on both stores. Apple's developer fee (US$99 a year) and Google Play's (US$25 once) are usually extra | You do: design, test, submit to both stores, update | Depends on the payment set-up you add |
| App development agency | A custom quote for the build, then ongoing fees for hosting, updates and store renewals | The agency | Depends on what they build |
| Flipdish | Essential Package from £119 a month billed annually per site, or £139 billed monthly (ex VAT). Its plan lists "your own branded website and apps" | Flipdish | Not shown on its pricing page |
| OrderYOYO | No published price. It charges commission on orders, which falls as your volume rises, invoiced weekly | OrderYOYO | Commission (rates not published) |
| Slerp | Its pricing page is password-protected, so no price is shown. It says it offers "plans with 0% commission" and a white-label branded app | Slerp | Not published |
| Menuthere Branded App | US$99 a month (US$990 a year billed yearly), billed in US dollars. Apple's and Google's developer fees included | Menuthere | 0% commission (your card payment gateway charges its own processing fee) |
Why it's cheaper: your app runs on the ordering system you already use with Menuthere: the same menu, checkout, kitchen alerts and customer list. We aren't building a one-off app from scratch, so you don't pay for one.

Do you actually need an app?
Not always. Be honest about where your orders come from:
- Start with a website if most orders are first-time customers. New customers find you on Google, Instagram, Just Eat or a QR code on a leaflet, and they won't install an app to order once. Menuthere's free ordering website covers that, with 0% commission.
- Add an app when regulars order every week. An icon on their home screen and a push notification ("Friday: 2 large pizzas for £20") bring them back without paying a marketplace's commission on every order.
- An app makes most sense for takeaways and pizza shops, cafés with daily regulars, bakeries taking repeat orders, food vans that move around, and groups with several sites.
You can start on Free, Lite or Pro and move to Branded App later. Your menu, orders and customers come with you.
Ideas for your push notifications
- Quiet-night offers: "Tuesday only: free garlic bread with any large pizza."
- New dishes: a photo and one line, sent at lunchtime.
- Big nights: Bonfire Night, Christmas platters, Eid feasts, Diwali sweets or the football on the telly.
- Opening hours: "Open late on Saturday" or "Closed Monday for a private event."
- Loyalty nudges: remind regulars about the points waiting in their account.
Schedule them ahead, or set them to repeat daily or weekly. There's no limit on how many you send.
Who it's for
| Business | Why a branded app helps |
|---|---|
| Takeaways and pizza shops | Regulars reorder in a few taps, and you skip marketplace commission on those orders. See takeaway app builder. |
| Cafés and coffee shops | Daily customers order ahead. Loyalty points and push offers keep them coming back. |
| Bakeries and cake shops | Order updates and reminders for repeat and pre-ordered cakes. |
| Food vans | Push your pitch and hours to followers before you open. |
| Restaurant groups | One app and one dashboard for several sites. |
Frequently asked questions
How much does a restaurant app cost in the UK?
A custom app from an agency is quoted per project and needs ongoing updates. A DIY builder costs a monthly plan plus Apple's and Google's developer fees, and you do the work. UK ordering platforms either charge a monthly fee (Flipdish lists from £119 a month ex VAT) or commission on orders. Menuthere's Branded App plan is US$99 a month, or US$990 a year billed yearly. We build and publish the app for you, and the store developer fees are included.
Is the price in pounds?
No. Menuthere bills UK stores in US dollars, so you pay US$99 a month and your bank converts it to pounds.
Can I create a restaurant app without coding?
Yes. With a DIY builder you design and publish it yourself, without code. With Menuthere you don't build anything: we build your Android and iOS app under your restaurant's name and publish it.
Is the app on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. Your branded app is published on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
Do you take commission on orders from my app?
No. Menuthere takes 0% commission. The payment gateway you use for card payments charges its own processing fee.
Do I pay anything when I sign up?
No. You add 10 dishes with photos, register your app and book a call with Menuthere's founder. You pay the first month in advance after the call, before we start building, and your subscription only starts counting from the day your app goes live.
How long do Apple and Google take to review my app?
Apple says most apps are reviewed within a day. Google says some reviews can take a week or longer. We handle the review and tell you when your app is live.
Do I pay Apple's and Google's developer fees?
No. Apple's and Google's developer fees are included in your US$99 a month, and we handle the store submission for you.
Can I send push notifications to my customers?
Yes, as many as you like, to everyone who installed your app or to followers only. Order status updates are pushed automatically too.
Is there a free trial?
Not on the Branded App plan, because we build and publish an app for you. You can try Lite or Pro free for 7 days first (you add a card to start, and nothing is charged until the trial ends), then move to Branded App.
What if I don't want an app yet?
Start with the free ordering website. It runs on the same menu and dashboard, opens in the phone's browser, and customers can add it to their home screen. Move to Branded App when your regulars are ready for it.
