What is eTakeawayMax?
eTakeawayMax describes itself as a family business, serving UK restaurants, takeaways, delis and cafés since 2012. It says it's used by 1,300+ UK businesses. Its core product is a branded ordering website (and apps on higher packages), with orders sent to a Wi-Fi printer, mobile app and email.
Its big selling point is commission-free ordering, pitched as a way to move customers off Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats. (More on that in our Just Eat alternatives guide.)

Extra costs in the small print
eTakeawayMax's FAQ lists these:
- Order printer: £199 inc VAT for Silver and Gold.
- Platinum hardware (15" touchscreen EPOS, caller ID, cash drawer, 80mm printer): £599 + VAT (£719.80 inc VAT).
- Extra charges for 24/7 pre-ordering, more than one menu, or more than one branch. Prices assume a standard evening-trade takeaway with one menu.
- App store accounts: you need your own Apple and Google developer accounts to publish apps. eTakeawayMax quotes Apple at £79 a year and Google Play at US$25.
- Card fees: depend on the card provider you use.
- SMS messages cost extra.
Contract and guarantee
- 90-day money-back guarantee: cancel in the first 90 days for a refund, returning any hardware in its packaging.
- After 90 days: the packages page says "simple rolling 12-month agreement with just 30 days notice before renewal". The FAQ on the same page says you need to give 7 days' notice. Its general terms say an open-ended subscription ends 30 days after your notice arrives. The site doesn't settle which applies, so get the notice period in writing.
- "£1 for 90 days" offer: the offer terms charge £1 in total for the first 90 days, then weekly billing (from £10 a week) starts automatically on day 91. To avoid it, your cancellation must arrive by day 60. The offer is for UK businesses only, one per business, and can be withdrawn at any time.
Worked example: year one on Gold
- Gold: £14.50 × 52 = £754
- Order printer: £199 (inc VAT)
- Apple developer account: £79
- Total: about £1,032, plus card fees.
On Platinum: £20 × 52 = £1,040, plus £719.80 hardware = about £1,760, plus card fees.

eTakeawayMax had no Trustpilot reviews on 11 October 2026. Its site shows a testimonial from a York pizza shop owner reporting about 50 more orders a week. That's one self-reported result. Ask for two or three local customers you can call.
