Onfleet alternatives for restaurants with their own drivers
Updated October 20, 2026
For most single restaurants, the best Onfleet alternative is a cheaper tool built for their size. Onfleet is last-mile delivery software for fleets: Launch starts at $619 a month for 2,500 tasks, Scale at $1,349 for 5,000 tasks and Enterprise at $3,099, and auto-dispatch only starts on Scale (pricing page, read October 20, 2026). It doesn't take orders, so a restaurant also pays for an ordering system. Menuthere Pro puts the ordering website, QR ordering, WhatsApp order updates and an app for your own riders in one $39 plan. If you need real dispatch automation for less, Shipday (US restaurants from $99) and Tookan (free plan, then from $99 billed yearly) are the closer swaps.
In short
- Onfleet's floor is $619 a month, for 2,500 delivery or pickup tasks. A restaurant doing 600 deliveries a month uses about a quarter of that.
- Auto-dispatch is on Scale ($1,349) and up. Launch has photo and signature proof of delivery, basic route optimisation and branded tracking.
- The contract is annual-style: Onfleet's terms say service orders renew unless you give 45 days' notice, prices can rise each year by at least 5% or CPI, and prepaid fees aren't refunded.
- Onfleet connects to ordering systems such as Square, Shopify, Menuu, Slerp and Zuppler, rather than taking orders itself.
- Menuthere is $39 on Pro with your own riders, assigned by hand. No auto-dispatch, route optimisation or proof of delivery.
What does Onfleet cost in 2026?
From onfleet.com/pricing and Onfleet's terms and help centre, read October 20, 2026. Prices are "starting at", in US dollars a month.
| Plan | Price | Tasks included | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|

What else you pay: text messages are optional and "charged per segment" (a long message splits into 153-character segments), billed the month after you send them. Onfleet doesn't publish an annual price or a per-task overage rate; its terms say extra tasks are billed "at the rate listed above" in your order. Tasks count only when they reach "Completed". There's a 14-day trial.
Contract terms worth reading (Onfleet terms, last updated August 31, 2026): annual plans are invoiced in full upfront; each service order renews for the same period unless either side gives notice at least 45 days before renewal; the yearly price adjustment is the greater of 5% or the rise in CPI; prepaid fees aren't refunded.
What does a restaurant still need on top of Onfleet?

| Drivers | Onfleet's driver app (Onfleet says 4.8+ stars across 7,000+ App Store and Google Play reviews) | Your drivers' wages |

Worked example: 600 deliveries a month with 3 drivers
A US restaurant delivers 600 orders a month with 3 of its own drivers. List prices, before taxes, card fees and driver wages (the same on every option).
| Monthly cost | Ordering system + Onfleet Launch | Ordering system + Shipday Branded Elite | Menuthere Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dispatch / rider software | $619 (2,500 tasks; about 1,900 unused) | $99 (300 orders) | Included |
| Orders over the plan | $0 | 300 × $0.20 = $60 | $0 |
| Auto-dispatch | Not on Launch (Scale, $1,349) | Included | Not offered; you assign by hand |
| Ordering website | Your ordering system's fee | Your ordering system's fee | Included, 0% commission |
| Customer messages | SMS per segment | SMS/WhatsApp included | About 1,800 WhatsApp updates × about $0.0034 = about $6, paid to Meta |
| Total, before your ordering system | $619 + SMS | $159 | about $45 |
| Over 12 months | $7,428 + SMS | $1,908 | about $540 (or $390 + Meta's fees on yearly billing) |
Onfleet's next year may cost at least 5% more under its terms: $650 a month on Launch. Before deciding to run your own drivers at all, compare them with a courier in the own delivery cost calculator and read in-house delivery for restaurants.
In the US, WhatsApp sends order updates, not promotions. Meta does not deliver WhatsApp marketing messages to +1 numbers, so WhatsApp sends order updates (utility messages, about $0.0034 each, billed by Meta with no markup) but not promotions; use email for offers.
When is Onfleet the better choice?
- You run a real fleet. Several kitchens, a ghost-kitchen group or a catering operation with thousands of deliveries a month will use the task allowance, and Scale's auto-dispatch and advanced route optimisation pay for themselves.
- You need proof of delivery and compliance. Photo and signature proof on every plan, and ID scanning and age verification on Scale, matter for alcohol and high-value catering.
- Your drivers need the best app. Onfleet says its driver app has 4.8+ stars across 7,000+ reviews, with driver-dispatcher chat and driver pay calculation.
- You want analytics and an operations team view. Reporting, the Operational Command Center and API access are built for dispatch managers.
When is Menuthere the better choice?
- You run one restaurant or a few. $39 a month on Pro covers ordering, QR ordering and your riders, against $619 before you've added an ordering system.
- You don't want a contract. Menuthere has none; cancel any month.
- You have a few riders. Assigning by hand from the Orders screen is quick at that size, and the rider gets a push notification in the Menuthere Delivery app on iPhone or Android. See the rider app.
- Your customers use WhatsApp. Order updates come from your own WhatsApp number, and the "dispatched" message carries a Track Order button to a live map.
