Thrive alternative for Indian restaurants (2026)
Updated October 21, 2026
Short answer: Thrive (Thrive/Thrivenow) announced in December 2024 that it was winding down its consumer food-delivery app amid intense competition, saying it would try to transition its Thrive ONDC, Thrive Direct and Thrive Marketing Suite segments to industry partners. If you ran a direct-ordering link, QR or WhatsApp flow through Thrive, you need a commission-free replacement so your menu links and customers don't go dark. A good replacement should be 0% commission, take UPI, card and cash into your own account, and offer WhatsApp ordering. Menuthere does all three, with a free plan to start.
Based on public reporting of Thrive's December 2024 shutdown announcement. Facts checked 21 October 2026. Menuthere is not affiliated with Thrive. Thrive is a trademark of its owner.
In short: Thrive wound down its consumer app in Dec 2024 and moved to transition its other segments. Move your direct ordering to a 0%-commission page with WhatsApp — Menuthere starts free.
What happened to Thrive
In December 2024, Thrive's co-founder announced the company had made the "difficult decision" to shut down the Thrive consumer app after four years, citing a marketplace "dominated by a few well-funded giants." The announcement said Thrive would work to transition its Thrive ONDC, Thrive Direct and Thrive Marketing Suite to other industry partners.
As of October 2026, Thrive's websites do not serve a working restaurant product. If you relied on Thrive for:
- a direct ordering link on your site, bio or Google profile,
- ONDC selling through Thrive,
- marketing/CRM messages to your customers,
you should move those to a replacement now, before links break and you lose the customer list.
What to look for in a replacement
| What Thrive gave you | What to check in a replacement |
|---|---|
| Direct ordering link / page | Is it 0% commission? Can you import your menu? |
| Payments | Does money go to your own account (UPI, card, netbanking)? |
| Customer marketing | Can you message your own customer list (e.g. WhatsApp)? |
| ONDC / channels | Which selling channels does it support? |
| Pricing | Is the price published and predictable? |

How to switch without breaking links
- Set up your new ordering page on Menuthere and import your menu.
- Update every link that pointed at Thrive — website button, Instagram/WhatsApp bio, Google Business Profile, printed QR codes.
- Re-create your QR codes so they point to the new menu.
- Export any customer or order data you can still reach from Thrive before access ends.
- Turn on WhatsApp ordering (Pro) so regulars can reorder in chat.
- Cut marketplace reliance — move repeat customers to your direct page to avoid Zomato/Swiggy commission. See Zomato commission in India and Swiggy commission in India.
Other options
If you also need full POS billing, compare Petpooja alternatives and DotPe alternatives. For most restaurants whose main loss from Thrive is the direct ordering link, a commission-free page plus WhatsApp is the quickest fix.
