Where each one wins
Owner.com and Menuthere both give a restaurant its own ordering website on a month-to-month plan. They differ on price, on fees, and on how much is done for you.
Where Owner.com wins
- A team does the work: setup and migration with a dedicated specialist are included, with 24/7 support.
- A branded iOS and Android app comes with both plans. On Menuthere, your own app is the Branded App plan at $99 a month.
- Automated email marketing, loyalty and SEO pages are built in. Menuthere has loyalty on Pro but no email or text marketing automation.
- Orders can go into Clover, Toast, Square or Lightspeed, and DoorDash orders can come into the Owner dashboard. Menuthere doesn't connect to outside POS systems or delivery apps.
- Gift cards, catering orders and third-party drivers at about $7 a delivery, with no markup from Owner.
Where Menuthere wins
- Price: Lite is $17 a month and Pro $39 a month. Owner's cheapest plan is $249 a month plus 5% of every order.
- No fee on your guests' orders from Menuthere. Owner adds a 5% order support fee to guest orders on both plans.
- Start today with no demo and no card: the Free plan takes 50 orders a month.
- QR table ordering for dine-in on every plan, and WhatsApp ordering on your own number on Pro.
- You control the look: all themes and brand colors on Lite. Owner's pricing page says partnering with Owner means giving up some control over how your site looks.
Moving from Owner.com to Menuthere
Import your menu
Upload a photo or PDF of your menu and Menuthere's AI import builds it, with sizes and add-ons you can check and edit.
Set up ordering and payments
On Lite, connect your own Stripe account for card payments and draw delivery zones on a map. Print kitchen tickets on a thermal printer, and use Uber Direct on your own account if you need drivers.
Move your links, then cancel
Point your domain to Menuthere, update your Google Business Profile and print new QR codes. Owner's agreement says to cancel through support@owner.com before your renewal date and to return any tablet or printer it loaned you.
The bottom line
Pick Owner.com if you have steady online sales and want a team to build and run your website, branded app, email marketing and loyalty, and to send orders into Toast, Square or Clover. At $5,000 a month of online sales, Flexible costs $249 plus $250 in fees, the same as Flat Rate's $499, which is where Owner suggests moving to Flat Rate.
Pick Menuthere if you want your own ordering website and QR table ordering at a low fixed price, and you're happy to set it up yourself. Lite is $17 a month, Pro is $39 a month with WhatsApp ordering and loyalty, and there is 0% commission on every plan. If you want your own app in the stores, the Branded App plan is $99 a month.
Menuthere doesn't have email or text marketing, gift cards, catering ordering, POS or delivery-app integrations, or a kitchen display screen. If you rely on those, Owner.com or another system on our Owner.com alternatives list will fit better.
