Just Eat commission · Ireland · checked October 2026
Just Eat's Irish partner page shows 14% commission when you deliver with your own couriers and 30% when Just Eat delivers, plus VAT on the commission, and says joining is free. It also says the rate varies by business, so the figure in your agreement is the one that counts.
Just Eat's Irish partner page doesn't state a rate in words: its FAQ says the commission "varies based on your business needs". The 14% and 30% below are the rates in the worked example on the same page (a €10 order), as archived in March 2026. Your agreement sets your own rate. Other apps and countries
The rates
Your own agreement with Just Eat sets most of your rates. Here is what it does publish in Ireland.
| Order type | Just Eat delivers | You deliver | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Worked example on Just Eat's page | 30% | 14% | On a €10 order: €1.40 commission plus €0.28 VAT when you deliver, €3.00 plus €0.60 VAT when Just Eat delivers. |
Card processing
Just Eat's Irish partner page doesn't mention a separate card fee. Check your agreement.
VAT on the commission
Yes. Just Eat's example adds VAT to the commission. It shows €0.28 on €1.40, which is 20%, while Ireland's standard VAT rate is 23%, so check the rate on your invoice. A VAT-registered business can usually reclaim it.
Joining fee
None, according to the page's FAQ: "It's free to join Just Eat."
Equipment
Just Eat sets up an Orderpad for you and sends a welcome pack. No fee is stated.
Couriers
Just Eat says it can provide couriers except in some rural areas, and checks your area during sign-up.

One €30 order on Just Eat
Just Eat keeps 30.0% of every order — €2,700 a month, or €32,400 a year at your volume.
The same order on your own ordering page
Moving 90 orders a month (30%) to your own link keeps €729 a month in your business — €8,748 a year.
Figures are estimates from the numbers you enter. Just Eat agreements differ by plan, location and volume, and platforms change their fees, so your Just Eat payout statement is the source of truth. The direct column assumes every order is paid by card at about 3%, before your ordering plan's fee; cash and pay-at-counter orders cost nothing. Worth knowing
Hygiene inspection. Just Eat says your business must pass the food hygiene inspection to trade on Just Eat, and in most cases register with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland first.
Premises. Residential premises can't join. Just Eat says it usually takes 7 to 10 working days to go online after you've signed.
Prosus completed its takeover of Just Eat Takeaway.com in October 2025. The announcement said nothing about restaurant terms.
Hot takeaway food in Ireland moved from 13.5% to the 9% VAT rate on 1 July 2026. That changes the VAT inside your menu prices, not the VAT on Just Eat's commission.
A Just Eat alternative for your regulars
A delivery app is a good way to be found and an expensive way to serve people who already know you. Give your regulars your own ordering link, and the commission on their orders stays in your business.
