The rates
Commission is a percentage of the order, and who delivers it sets the rate. Here is what Uber Eats publishes for restaurants in Costa Rica.
| Plan | Uber Eats delivers | Pickup | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | 25% | 18% | No Uber-funded promotions. Access to Uber One members adds 3%. |
| Plus | 27% | 18% | Uber may fund promotions for you. Access to Uber One members adds 2%. |
| Premium | 29% | 18% | Uber matches your ad spend up to CRC 45,594 a month, and refunds the fee in any of your first three months with 20 orders or fewer. Access to Uber One members adds 1%. |
Card processing
Included in the commission: Uber lists payment processing in every plan.
Activation fee
Uber's terms provide for an activation fee, agreed with each restaurant, plus any applicable tax. It comes with a tablet, which stays Uber's property.
Offers and ads
Offer fees and sponsored listings are charged separately from the commission.

One ₡10,000 order on Uber Eats
Uber Eats keeps 27.0% of every order — ₡810,000 a month, or ₡9,720,000 a year at your volume.
The same order on your own ordering page
Moving 90 orders a month (30%) to your own link keeps ₡216,000 a month in your business — ₡2,592,000 a year.
Figures are estimates from the numbers you enter. Uber Eats agreements differ by plan, location and volume, and platforms change their fees, so your Uber Eats payout statement is the source of truth. The direct column assumes every order is paid by card at about 3%, before your ordering plan's fee; cash and pay-at-counter orders cost nothing. Worth knowing
The Premium refund applies only if you cancel no more than 3 orders a month and stay open on Uber Eats for at least 95% of your listed hours. Orders count from your first full month.
Uber's Costa Rican pricing page lists no rate for restaurants that deliver with their own couriers.
Of Uber Eats' rivals, PedidosYa doesn't publish a standard rate in Costa Rica (its partner page advertises 10% for the first 30 days, Jefe, a restaurant-software firm, reports), and Rappi's partner blog lists 25% for Costa Rica on a page last updated in December 2023.
An Uber Eats alternative for your regulars
A delivery app is a good way to be found and an expensive way to serve people who already know you. Give your regulars your own ordering link, and the commission on their orders stays in your business.
