Updated October 20, 2026

To register your restaurant on Zomato, apply through Zomato for Business, submit your FSSAI licence, GST (GSTIN), PAN and a cancelled cheque, upload your menu with dish photos, pass a verification visit and accept the partner agreement. Onboarding is free; Zomato earns a commission on each order once you go live. This guide lists the exact documents, the steps and the commission to expect, and shows how to keep repeat customers ordering direct at 0% commission.

Menuthere is not affiliated with Zomato. Zomato is a trademark of Eternal Ltd. Steps and documents below are compiled from public third-party onboarding guides and may change — always confirm on Zomato for Business.

In short

  • Apply at Zomato for Business ("Add your restaurant"). Registration itself is free.
  • Documents: FSSAI licence, GSTIN, PAN, cancelled cheque (bank details), a digital menu and photos of your top dishes.

How to register your restaurant on Zomato: step by step

  1. Apply at Zomato for Business. Go to Zomato's business/partner page and use "Add your restaurant". Enter your restaurant name, address and contact details accurately — the address must match your FSSAI and GST records.
  2. Submit documents and complete KYC. Upload the FSSAI licence, GSTIN, PAN and a cancelled cheque, and complete the KYC step.
  3. Verification. Zomato may carry out a physical verification of your outlet before approving the listing.
  4. Accept the partner agreement. Review and sign Zomato's terms, including the commission and payout terms for your contract.
  5. Build your menu and profile. Upload your menu with item images (Zomato guidance has used image sizes around 650×700 px), set prices, and complete your profile.
  6. Go live. Once approved, your restaurant becomes discoverable to Zomato users and starts receiving orders.

Typical onboarding takes a few days to a couple of weeks depending on how fast verification and document checks clear.

What Zomato costs you

Zomato does not publish a single commission figure; the rate is set per restaurant in your contract.

CostWhat to expect

Keep repeat customers at 0% commission

Zomato is a discovery channel — useful for finding new customers, expensive on every repeat order. The restaurants that stay profitable use the marketplace to be found, then move loyal customers to a direct, commission-free channel.

With Menuthere you can:

  • Put a free online ordering page and QR code menu on your own link, with Razorpay, Cashfree and UPI payments into your own account.
  • Take orders on WhatsApp on your own number.
  • Keep 0% commission on every direct order — you only pay your plan.

Print your direct ordering QR on the bill and on the takeaway bag so Zomato customers can reorder from you next time without the commission. See more in how to reduce Zomato and Swiggy commission.

FAQs

What documents are required to register a restaurant on Zomato?

You need an FSSAI licence or registration, a GST certificate (GSTIN), your PAN, a cancelled cheque or bank details for payouts, a digital menu, and photos of your dishes. The business name and address should match across your FSSAI and GST records.

Is GST registration mandatory to list on Zomato?

Yes. Zomato requires a GSTIN to register your restaurant, because the platform needs a registered taxable entity. A regular GST registration is expected; composition-scheme dealers are generally not eligible to sell on marketplaces.

How much commission does Zomato charge restaurants?

Zomato does not publish a fixed commission. Business Standard reported base commissions of 15%–30% of order value in July 2026, and individual restaurants report rates across a wide range. On top of that, 18% GST applies to the commission.

How long does Zomato registration take?

After you apply and submit documents, onboarding usually takes from a few days up to a couple of weeks, depending on document verification and the physical verification visit.

Can I take orders without paying Zomato commission?

Yes — on your own direct channel. You can run a free Menuthere ordering page, QR menu and WhatsApp ordering at 0% commission alongside your Zomato listing, and move repeat customers to the direct link to keep your margin.
