Get your restaurant on Google Maps in India (and turn searches into direct orders)
Updated October 20, 2026
When someone in India searches "restaurants near me" or "best biryani in [your city]", the answer is a Google Maps list — and a complete, well-reviewed listing wins the click. This guide walks through claiming your Google Business Profile, filling it out, getting reviews the right way, pushing your menu to Google, and adding a direct order link so those searches become orders you keep 100% of.
In short
- Create or claim your Google Business Profile (it powers your Maps listing) and verify it.
- Complete everything: category, hours, photos, phone, address, and a direct order link.
- Push your menu to Google from Menuthere so dishes and prices show on Search and Maps.
- Earn reviews honestly — ask happy guests, reply to every review. Never pay for or gate reviews.
- Add your order/QR link so a search turns into a commission-free direct order.
Step 1 — Create or claim your Google Business Profile
Your Maps listing is driven by a Google Business Profile:
- Go to Google Business Profile and search for your restaurant's name and address.
- If it exists, claim it; if not, create it.
- Choose the right primary category (e.g. "Restaurant", "South Indian restaurant", "Cafe").
- Verify ownership (Google will ask by phone, postcard or video, depending on the business).
Step 2 — Complete the profile properly
A half-filled listing loses to a complete one. Fill in:
- Name, address, phone (NAP) exactly as on your signage and bills.
- Opening hours, including festival/holiday hours.
- Photos: exterior, interior, your best dishes, the menu. Add new ones regularly.
- Attributes: dine-in, takeaway, delivery, veg/non-veg, outdoor seating, etc.
- A website / order link — point it at your own ordering page, not a marketplace.
Step 3 — Push your menu to Google
With Menuthere you can connect your Google Business Profile and push your menu, prices and photos to your Google listing, so customers who find you on Search or Maps see what you serve:
- Open Settings → Integrations → Google Business Profile and press Connect.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the listing.
- Push your menu. The push is manual and replaces the menu on your listing, so push again after you change prices.
Step 4 — Get reviews the honest way
Reviews drive both ranking and clicks. Do it cleanly:
- Ask happy customers in person or with a review QR / link at the billing counter.
- Reply to every review, good or bad — it shows you're active and reachable.
- Never buy reviews and never gate them (asking only happy customers to review while blocking unhappy ones is against Google's policies and not something Menuthere does).
A simple flow: a QR on the bill → your Google review link. Pair it with your order QR so one scan reviews, the next orders.
Step 5 — Turn the listing into direct orders
A listing that only drives app orders still costs you commission. Close the loop:
- Put your direct order link in the website field and posts.
- Add a QR code menu on tables that doubles as a "scan to order" and "scan to review".
- Offer WhatsApp ordering for customers who'd rather chat.
Every order through your own link is 0% commission. See pricing.

FAQs
How do I add my restaurant to Google Maps in India?
Create or claim a Google Business Profile for your restaurant, choose the right category, and verify ownership (by phone, postcard or video). Then complete the listing with your address, hours, photos and an order link. The verified Business Profile is what appears on Google Maps.
Can I show my menu on Google?
Yes. Connect your Google Business Profile to Menuthere and push your menu, prices and photos to your Google listing, so customers who find you on Search or Maps can see what you serve. The push is manual and replaces the menu on the listing, so push again after price changes.
How do I get more Google reviews for my restaurant?
Ask happy customers in person or with a review QR or link at the billing counter, and reply to every review. Never pay for reviews and never gate them by only inviting happy customers — that breaches Google's policies.
Should my Google listing link to Zomato/Swiggy or my own site?
Point the website and order link at your own ordering page, not a marketplace. Orders through your own link are commission-free, so a Google search becomes a direct order you keep 100% of.
Does listing on Google Maps cost anything?
Creating and managing a Google Business Profile is free. A Menuthere ordering page to receive the orders starts free too, with 0% commission.
