Is GST charged on payment gateway fees in India?
Updated 14 October 2026
Yes. Gateways quote GST on top of their fee. PayU states 18% GST applicable on all transactions, so a 2% fee becomes 2% plus GST on that fee.
- PayU example: 2% for domestic Visa, Mastercard, net banking, BNPL and wallets, with 18% GST on all transactions.
- No setup, onboarding or annual fee at PayU.
- Always read "plus GST" on a gateway's pricing page.
- Other gateways differ, so check each one's own page.
No commission on your online orders
Menuthere takes no commission and no per-order fee on online payments. Gateway fees, and any GST on them, are charged by your own gateway account.
