Can my restaurant reserve a WhatsApp business username?

Yes. Since 29 June 2026, businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform can claim a username that WhatsApp has reserved for them. It helps people find you, but your phone number stays visible.
- Customers can find a business username with an exact-match search in WhatsApp.
- Your business phone number is still visible on your business profile. A username is for being found, not for privacy.
- A username key is optional. You can skip it and keep using your number.
- The option opened on 29 June 2026 for businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Get orders without a username search
Customers do not need your username. They message your WhatsApp number, get an Order Now button that opens your menu, and the order lands in your Menuthere dashboard and partner app.
