Free Thanksgiving menu templates for restaurants
Updated October 20, 2026
Copy a free Thanksgiving menu template from this page, fill in your dishes and dollar prices, then print it or put it on your online menu. There are four, all written for restaurants rather than home cooks: a dine-in prix fixe with a per-person and kids' price and your seating times, a Thanksgiving dinner-to-go family meal priced for 4, 8 or 12 people, a pie and sides pre-order list, and a blank menu. Nothing to download and no email needed.
Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November: Thursday, November 26, 2026, and Thursday, November 25, 2027 (US Office of Personnel Management federal holiday list).

Three ways to use them:
- Free menu maker: paste your dishes into the printable menu maker, one per line with the price at the end, choose a design and download a PDF.
- Word or Google Docs: copy the wording, set the page to US Letter, replace the blanks and export to PDF.
- By hand: print this page from your browser and write on the pre-order list at the counter.
1. Thanksgiving prix fixe menu template (dine-in)
One price per guest keeps a holiday kitchen calm, and family-style sides "for the table" cut plating time. Put the kids' price and seating times under the headline: families ask those first.

Why "carved" for chilled meals? USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) advises against reheating a whole cooked turkey. Sell whole birds hot for eating within two hours, and carve the ones guests will reheat.

Fill in the oven times you've tested in your own kitchen; the temperatures and storage rules below follow FSIS guidance for cooked take-out dinners.

Worked example: pricing a Thanksgiving dinner to go for 8
These are example figures only. Use your own supplier invoices, which tend to rise in November.
| Item in the meal for 8 | Example cost |
|---|---|
| 14 lb turkey, roasted and carved ($1.90 per lb) | $26.60 |
| Turkey gravy, 2 quarts | $3.20 |
| Stuffing | $5.80 |
| Mashed potatoes, 5 lb | $5.50 |
| Green bean casserole | $6.40 |
| Cranberry sauce | $3.10 |
| Dinner rolls, 16 | $4.80 |
| 9" pumpkin pie | $6.60 |
| Food cost | $62.00 |
| Foil pans, lids, bag and labels | $8.00 |
| Total cost | $70.00 |
At a 30% target cost: $70.00 ÷ 0.30 = $233.33. A menu price of $229 puts cost at 30.6% (about $28.63 per person); $235 puts it at 29.8%. Sales tax goes on top at checkout. To compare that price with what you'd need on a delivery app, run the dish through the menu price calculator.
US rules to check before you print
- Calorie labeling (chains only). The FDA rule covers restaurants in a chain of 20 or more locations under the same name selling substantially the same menu items. Menus on the internet count as menus. A "temporary menu item", on the menu for less than a total of 60 days in a calendar year, is exempt, and the 60 days add up consecutive and non-consecutive days. A Thanksgiving-only menu usually qualifies; a pumpkin pie you also sell all December may not. Independents with fewer than 20 locations aren't covered.
- Cooling and reheating in your kitchen. The FDA Food Code, which most states adopt in some form, says cooked food must cool from 135°F to 70°F within 2 hours and to 41°F within 6 hours in total. Food you reheat for hot holding must reach 165°F for 15 seconds within 2 hours. Your state or county code is the one that applies, so check it.
- Sales tax. You can show prices before tax and add sales tax at checkout. Whether prepared food, bakery items and packaging are taxed, and at what rate, varies by state and sometimes by city. Ask your state revenue department.

How to do it in Menuthere
- Put the menu online (Free). Sign up, then upload your finished menu as a PDF or photo; AI reads the dishes and prices, and you check them before saving. Print the free QR code for tables, windows and flyers. Keep Thanksgiving dishes in their own category and switch it on in early November and off on November 27. "Show dishes at set times" works by weekday and time, not by calendar date.
- Take to-go pre-orders with pickup slots (Lite, US$17 a month). Turn on Prebooking, limit it to your Thanksgiving dishes and set fixed pickup windows for November 24 to 26. Our Thanksgiving pre-orders guide covers the cut-off and pickup day step by step.
- Book Thanksgiving seatings (Lite). In the Dine-in half of Prebooking settings, set Table time slots such as 12:00–2:00 PM, 2:30–4:30 PM and 5:00–7:00 PM and switch on Ask number of people. You get a push alert an hour before each booking. Slots repeat on every open day you tick, and there's no cap per seating, so set them for that week and switch bookings off once you're full.
- Take payment before pickup (Lite). To-go customers can pay the full amount online by card through Stripe. Menuthere doesn't take deposits or card holds for table bookings; collect one separately if you need it.
- Add sales tax. Switch on Charge tax on orders in Payments & tax; the line shows as "Sales tax" at checkout and on bills.
- Announce it. A scheduled pop-up banner (Lite) shows the to-go menu to everyone who opens your page. With a Branded App, you can also send regulars a push notification.
All of this runs at 0% commission. See pricing, the pre-orders and table booking feature and our online ordering system for US restaurants. Planning Christmas next? UK venues can start from our Christmas menu templates.
Prebooking and table booking start on Lite, with a 7-day free trial (a card is needed to start; nothing is charged until the trial ends).
FAQs
Is there a free Thanksgiving menu template for Word or Google Docs?
Yes. Copy any template on this page into Word or Google Docs, replace the blanks with your dishes and prices, and export it as a PDF to print. Our free printable menu maker also turns a pasted dish list into a print-ready PDF.
What should a restaurant Thanksgiving menu include?
Turkey with gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, a green vegetable, cranberry sauce, rolls and pie, plus one vegetarian main. Show the price per person or per meal size, the kids' price, seating or pickup times, and a sales tax and allergy line.
How much should I charge for Thanksgiving dinner to go?
Add up the food and packaging cost for each meal size and divide by your target cost percentage. In our example, a meal for 8 costs $70.00 to make, so a 30% target gives about $233, and a menu price of $229 works out to roughly $28.63 a person.
Do I need to show calories on a Thanksgiving menu?
Only if you are part of a chain with 20 or more locations. Even then, items on the menu for less than a total of 60 days in a calendar year count as temporary menu items and are exempt.
What reheating instructions should come with a Thanksgiving meal to go?
Tell guests to refrigerate the food within 2 hours of pickup, reheat turkey and sides to 165°F on a food thermometer, bring gravy to a rolling boil and eat it within 3 to 4 days. USDA advises against reheating a whole cooked turkey, so carve birds that will be reheated.
Should Thanksgiving menu prices include sales tax?
They don't have to. Most US restaurants show prices before tax and add sales tax at checkout. Say so on the menu, and check your state's rules for prepared food.
