Your own restaurant app, built and published for you
Updated October 19, 2026
A restaurant app builder lets a restaurant put its own app, with its name and icon, on the App Store and Google Play. With most builders you design and publish the app yourself. Menuthere's Branded App plan does it for you: we build your Android and iOS app, publish it under your restaurant's name, and connect it to your menu, orders and customers. It costs $99 a month ($990 a year billed yearly), with nothing to pay at signup. We take 0% commission on your orders.
In short
- Your app, your name: a customer app for Android and iOS, under your restaurant's name and icon, published on Google Play and the App Store.
- Built and published for you: no app builder to learn and no developer to hire. Menuthere builds and publishes it, and Apple and Google store fees are included.
- Customers order, pay, earn points and reorder in your app, and track their delivery live.
- Push notifications included: order updates go straight to customers' phones, and you can send unlimited offers and announcements.
- Everything in Pro behind it: WhatsApp ordering on your own number, loyalty points, your own delivery riders, advanced analytics and several outlets.
- $99 a month, 0% commission. Nothing to pay at signup: your first month is paid before we build, and your subscription counts from the day the app goes live. No free trial on this plan.
What you get with a Menuthere branded app
| You get | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your own app on Android and iOS | Your restaurant's name and icon on Google Play and the App Store. Customers search for you, not for a marketplace. Apple's $99 a year and Google Play's $25 developer fees are included. |
| Ordering in the app | Customers browse your menu, order and pay in the app, and reorder a past order in a tap. |
| Loyalty and live tracking | Customers see their loyalty points in the app and track their delivery live when you use your own riders. |
| Order updates on customers' phones | Each order's status (accepted, ready, on the way) is pushed to the customer's phone. |
| Unlimited push notifications | Write a title and message, add an image, and send it to all app users or to followers only. Send it now, schedule it, or repeat it daily or weekly. |
| Everything in Pro | WhatsApp Business API on your own number, loyalty points, your own riders with live tracking, advanced analytics and several outlets. |
| One dashboard | The app runs on the same menu, orders and customers as your ordering website. Change a price once and it changes everywhere. |
| Staff app included | Your team takes orders on the Menuthere partner app for Android and iPhone. It rings until each order is accepted. |
| Dedicated support | A dedicated support contact for your store and an onboarding call. |
How it works
- Press Get your app. Start at Get your app, or on the Branded App plan on our pricing page, and create your store. Nothing is paid at signup.
- Add 10 dishes with photos. Your app needs a real menu, so add at least 10 dishes, each with a photo.
- Register your app and book a call. Press Register App on your dashboard home and book a call with Menuthere's founder. Prefer to talk first? Book a 15-minute demo.
- Pay the first month and send your app details. After the call you pay the first month in advance, then send your app's name, icon and brand color.
- We build and publish it. Menuthere builds your app, handles the Google Play and App Store reviews, and tells you when it's live. Store developer fees are included, and your subscription counts from the day the app goes live.
- Grow repeat orders. Share your app with customers and send push notifications for offers, new dishes, festivals and opening-hours changes from Sales channel → App → App notification in your dashboard.
Restaurant app builder vs agency vs ordering platform: what it really costs
There are four ways to get a restaurant app. Here's how they compare. Prices are from each company's own pricing page, checked on 15 October 2026.
| Option | What you pay | Who builds and publishes the app | Fees on orders |
|---|---|---|---|
| DIY app builder (Appy Pie, GoodBarber, Adalo and similar) | A monthly or yearly plan, and often a higher tier to publish on both stores. Apple's developer fee ($99 a year) and Google Play's ($25 once) are extra | You do: design, test, submit to both stores, update | Depends on the payment set-up you add |
| App development agency | A custom quote for the build, then ongoing fees for hosting, updates and store renewals | The agency | Depends on what they build |
| Ordering platform with a branded app, e.g. Owner.com | Flex $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee per order, or Flat $499 a month. Guests also pay a 5% order support fee | The platform | 5% (Flex) or none (Flat); guests pay 5% |
| Ordering platform with a branded app, e.g. ChowNow | Plans listed from $229 to $449 a month, a $119–$499 set-up fee and a $99 Apple developer fee a year for branded apps | The platform | 2.95% + $0.29 per transaction |
| Menuthere Branded App | $99 a month ($990 a year billed yearly). Apple and Google developer fees included | Menuthere, including the store submissions | 0% commission (your card payment gateway charges its own processing fee) |
Why it's cheaper: your app runs on the ordering system you already use with Menuthere: the same menu, checkout, kitchen alerts and customer list. We aren't building a one-off app from scratch, so you don't pay for one. For a full breakdown, see how much a restaurant app costs to build.
Do you actually need an app?
Not always. Be honest about where your orders come from:
- Start with a website if most orders are first-time customers. New customers find you on Google, Instagram or a QR code, and they won't install an app to order once. Menuthere's free ordering website covers that, with 0% commission.
- Add an app when regulars order every week. An icon on their home screen and a push notification ("Friday pizza night, 2 for 1") bring them back without paying a marketplace or an ad platform.
- An app makes most sense for pizza and takeaway shops, coffee shops with daily regulars, bakeries taking repeat orders, food trucks that move around, and groups with several outlets.
You can start on Free, Lite or Pro and move to Branded App later. Your menu, orders and customers come with you. See plans and pricing.
Ideas for your push notifications
- Quiet-night offers: "Tuesday only: free garlic bread with any large pizza."
- New dishes: a photo and one line, sent at lunchtime.
- Festivals and holidays: pre-orders for Thanksgiving pies, Diwali sweets, Christmas platters or Eid feasts.
- Opening hours: "We're open late on Saturday" or "Closed Monday for a private event."
- Loyalty nudges: remind regulars about the points waiting in their account.
Schedule them ahead, or set them to repeat daily or weekly. There's no limit on how many you send.
Who it's for
| Business | Why a branded app helps |
|---|---|
| Pizza and takeaway shops | Regulars reorder in a few taps, and you skip marketplace commission on every order. |
| Coffee shops and cafés | Daily customers order ahead. Loyalty points and push offers keep them coming back. |
| Bakeries and cake shops | Order updates and reminders for repeat and pre-ordered cakes. |
| Food trucks | Push your location and hours to followers before you open. |
| Restaurant groups | One app and one dashboard for several outlets. |
Frequently asked questions
How much does a restaurant app cost?
A custom app from an agency is quoted per project and needs ongoing updates. A DIY builder costs a monthly plan plus Apple's $99 a year and Google Play's $25 developer fees, and you do the work. Menuthere's Branded App plan is $99 a month, or $990 a year billed yearly. We build and publish the app for you, and the store developer fees are included.
Can I create a restaurant app without coding?
Yes. With a DIY builder you design and publish it yourself, without code. With Menuthere you don't build anything: we build your Android and iOS app under your restaurant's name and publish it.
Is the app on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. Your branded app is published on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
Do you take commission on orders from my app?
No. Menuthere takes 0% commission. The payment gateway you use for card payments charges its own processing fee.
Can I send push notifications to my customers?
Yes, as many as you like, to everyone who installed your app or to followers only. Order status updates are pushed automatically too.
How long does it take to get my app?
We build your app after your founder call and first payment, then submit it to Google Play and the App Store. We tell you when it's live, and your subscription counts from that day.
Do I pay Apple's and Google's developer fees?
No. Apple's $99 a year and Google Play's $25 developer fees are included in your $99 a month.
What can customers do in my app?
Order and pay, reorder a past order in a tap, see their loyalty points, get order updates as push notifications, and track their delivery live when you use your own riders.
Is there a free trial?
Not on the Branded App plan, because we build and publish an app for you. But nothing is paid at signup: you pay the first month after a call with our founder, before we build. You can also try Lite or Pro free for 7 days first (you add a card to start, and nothing is charged until the trial ends), then move to Branded App.
What happens to my app if I cancel?
Message us before you cancel, and we'll tell you what happens to your app for your store.
Do my staff use the same app?
No. Your team receives orders on the Menuthere partner app for Android and iPhone, which rings until each order is accepted.
What if I don't want an app yet?
Start with the free ordering website. It runs on the same menu and dashboard, opens in the phone's browser, and customers can add it to their home screen. Move to Branded App when your regulars are ready for it.
Your restaurant, in your customers' pockets. $99 a month, 0% commission.
