Pizza place name generator

For pizza place name ideas, choose pizza as the cuisine in the generator below, pick a vibe, and it gives you 30 names to shortlist. This page opens on a rustic, family pizzeria, so the list pulls from dough room, peel, blister and leopard crust, toppings such as basil, oregano and nduja, and a few pizza puns. Add your street, your family name or the neighborhood, keep the names you would happily answer the phone with, and check each one.

Your shortlist (0 of 20)

One tap opens each US check with the name. Write notes as you go.

Tap the heart on a name to add it here.

These checks are a quick screen, not legal advice. Confirm on the USPTO trademark search and your state's business name search before you commit. The domain check asks the .com registry directly from your browser. The free page check asks Menuthere if the link is taken right now; it doesn't hold the name for you. The shortlist stays on this device, and a share link carries it after the # sign.

How it works

  1. 1

    Describe your place

The business type, cuisine and vibes are set for this niche. Add your town, a landmark or a word you love if you like.

  2. 2

    Generate and shortlist

Get 30 names from up to 10 naming patterns. Tap the heart to shortlist one, or More like this for similar names.

  3. 3

    Check your shortlist

One tap opens the trademark register and Google Maps with the name. The tool looks up the .com domain and whether your free menuthere.com link is free.

Naming tips for pizzerias

  1. 1

Say it on the phone ten times

Pizza shops answer the phone with their name all night. Read each shortlisted name out loud as a greeting: if it takes a breath to say or gets misheard, regulars will shorten it for you. Two or three plain words are easiest at a busy counter.

  2. 2

Only claim Neapolitan if you are certified

The Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana certifies pizzerias that follow its rules, and members can put its registered logo on menus and cards. Membership doesn't carry over to a new location by itself. Keep certified-sounding words out of the name unless you have the certificate.

  3. 3

Search pizza in the food class too

Restaurant service is class 43, but the class notes put pizza itself in class 30. If you might sell take-and-bake pies or frozen pizza in stores one day, search your shortlist in both classes before you print boxes with the name on them.

Questions owners ask

Answered, plainly.

Names that say pizza without trying too hard: a family name plus Pizza, a street or neighborhood plus Pizzeria, a craft word like Peel or Dough Room, or a gentle pun. The generator mixes all of these, and the shortlist keeps notes so you can compare them with the people you work with.

For a neighborhood shop, yes: it helps people searching for pizza near them and tells delivery customers what they are ordering. Pizzeria sounds more sit-down, pizza more casual. A name without either word works if your sign and menu make the food obvious.

The USPTO's base application fee is $350 per class. A pizzeria usually files for restaurant services in class 43; selling packaged pizza or sauce adds class 30 or 29. Search the USPTO register for similar names before you file.

Shortlist it in the tool, then use the one-tap links: the USPTO trademark search, Google Maps with your town, and the Instagram, TikTok and Facebook handles. The tool can also look up the .com. Your state's business filing office has its own name search for company names.
