Free WhatsApp QR code generator for restaurants

Type your WhatsApp number and the first message. Get a QR code that opens a chat with you, ready to download as PNG or SVG, or as stickers for your window, tables, bags and boxes.

Last updated 20 October 2026

  • Free
  • No sign-up
  • Your number isn't stored
What do you want to make?
1What should the code open?

It is typed in for the customer. They can change it before they send. On Menuthere’s WhatsApp bot, "Hi" gets an Order Now button and a message naming a table gets that table’s menu.

2Your QR code

Leave it empty for the bare code.

Scan to order on WhatsApp

This is a stand-in code. Add your WhatsApp number to make it yours.

PNG for posts, menus and screens. SVG stays sharp at any print size. Print the code at least 3 cm wide with the white border around it, and scan it with your own phone first.

Let customers pick their items before they chat

Put your items on a free Menuthere order page. Customers choose, add their details and the order arrives on your WhatsApp. Use that page's link in the code.

A chat QR code or an ordering QR code?

Every WhatsApp QR code opens a chat. What happens next depends on who answers it.

What a customer gets after scanning
Your WhatsAppCustomer scans and sendsWhat they get back
WhatsApp Business app, answered by hand"Hi, I'd like to order"Your reply when someone has a free hand. They type the order and you add it up.
Your free order page in the codeNothing yet: the code opens your itemsThey pick items and send the order to your WhatsApp, already written.
Menuthere's WhatsApp bot on your number"Hi"An instant reply with an Order Now button. The menu opens with them already signed in.
Menuthere's WhatsApp bot, table code"Hi, I'm at table 1"The Order Now link for that table's menu.

The bot's order link is valid for 23 hours and works for the first person who opens it, so a forwarded link can't be reused. See WhatsApp ordering and what a WhatsApp ordering bot does.

For table codes, change the number in the message and download again for each table. The codes stay the same size, so they fit the same card. For a printed table card with your menu, Wi-Fi or review code, use the table QR card maker.

Print it so it scans

  • At least 3 cm wide, bigger for a window. Keep the white border: scanners need it.
  • Dark on light. The tool keeps the code dark on white. A light colour is swapped for black.
  • SVG for print shops, PNG for posts and screens.
  • Test before you print a batch. Scan it from a second phone and check the number and the message.
  • Short messages scan best. A long message makes a denser code.

What the chats cost

Customers never pay to message you. Answering by hand from the WhatsApp Business app has no per-message charge. On the WhatsApp Business API, Meta bills your own WhatsApp account per message: the first 1,000 service replies a month per number are free, and order updates are paid utility messages. Work out a month with the WhatsApp cost calculator.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add your number and message

Choose your country, type your WhatsApp number and pick the message customers start with, like "Hi" or "Hi, I'd like to order". Or paste any link instead.

  2. 2

    Choose a code or stickers

Just the QR code, with optional words under it, or round, square and rectangle stickers in your colour with your name and logo.

  3. 3

    Download and print

Download the code as PNG or SVG, or a PDF with a sheet of stickers on A4. Scan one with your own phone before you print more.

Questions owners ask

Answered, plainly.

The code holds a WhatsApp chat link: wa.me, then your number with the country code, then the message. When a customer scans it with the phone camera, WhatsApp opens a chat with you and the message is already typed. They only press send.

"Hi, I'd like to order" tells you why they wrote. If your number runs Menuthere's WhatsApp bot, use just "Hi": the bot answers it with an Order Now button. For tables, name the table, like "Hi, I'm at table 1", and the bot replies with that table's menu.

Yes. Choose A link and paste any web address, such as your free WhatsApp order page or your menu. Customers see your items first, and the order reaches your WhatsApp.

No. It is a fixed link, so it works as long as the number is on WhatsApp. If you change your number, make new codes, because the old ones still open a chat with the old number.

At least 3 cm wide, with the white border around it. The round and square stickers are 7 cm across and the rectangle is 9 by 5 cm, with a code at least 3.8 cm wide. Bigger is better for a window people scan from further away.

WhatsApp's brand rules ask others not to redraw or combine its logo with other marks, and they ask for written approval to use it on packaging. The code and stickers use a plain chat bubble and your own words, so you can print them freely.

Not for the customer, and not from this tool. If you answer by hand from the WhatsApp Business app, there is no per-message charge. Automatic replies on the WhatsApp Business API are billed by Meta, with the first 1,000 service replies a month per number free.
