Free pub menu template for UK pubs
Updated 20 October 2026
Copy the free pub menu template below, fill in your dishes, Sunday roasts and drinks with £ prices, and print it on A4, or make it in our free menu maker and download a PDF. It's laid out the way UK pubs sell: mains and pub classics, a Sunday roast block, a specials line you can change, and a drinks panel with the measures UK law sets. It also covers what a pub must show at the door and how to word a service charge. Then put the menu on a table QR code so guests can order and pay from their seat.
In short
- Price list at the door: pubs and restaurants must display food and drink prices at or near the entrance (Price Marking (Food and Drink Services) Order 2003).
- Spirits: gin, rum, vodka and whisky in 25ml or 35ml measures and multiples, not both on the same premises. Wine: 125ml, 175ml and multiples. Draught: third, half, two-thirds of a pint, and multiples of a half.
- Small measures (half pint, 25ml or 35ml, 125ml wine) must be available and shown on a menu or price list in England and Wales.
- Service charge: say whether it's discretionary; all tips and service charges go to staff under the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023.

What a UK pub menu must show
| Must show | Rule | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Prices at or near the entrance | Price Marking (Food and Drink Services) Order 2003, article 7 | A notice by the door, not just the table menu |
| Prices including VAT | Food and drink served in the pub is standard-rated at 20% | Every price on the menu |
| Service, cover or minimum charges | As prominent as the prices; a compulsory charge belongs in the price shown (CMA price transparency guidance) | Menu and entrance notice |
| Drink measures | Spirits 25ml or 35ml, not both; still wine 125ml, 175ml and multiples; port and sherry 50ml or 70ml; draught ⅓, ½, ⅔ pint and multiples of ½ | Drinks list |
| Small measures available and listed | Licensing Act 2003 (Mandatory Licensing Conditions) Order 2010, England and Wales | Menu or price list |
| Allergens | All 14, in writing or with a sign telling guests to ask | Menu, matrix or board; make one with the allergen chart maker |
| Calories | Only for businesses with 250+ employees in England | Each dish, plus the 2000 kcal statement |
There are no specified measures for sparkling wine by the glass or for spirits other than gin, rum, vodka and whisky, but say the measure you pour.
Service charges and tips. The Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 requires all tips and service charges to go to workers in full, from 1 October 2024. Only write "all of it goes to our team" if that's what happens. See the tipping law guide.
Put the menu on a table QR code
Upload this menu to Menuthere and guests can order from their table: scan the QR, order, and pay by card on Lite with your own Stripe account, or pay at the bar on the Free plan. A second round from the same table joins the open bill. Mark the Sunday roast dishes to show only on Sundays, and a dish to show only for dine-in. See the pub ordering system and QR code ordering. Plan roast Sundays, Mothering Sunday and bank holidays with the UK restaurant marketing calendar.

FAQs
Is this pub menu template free?
Yes. Copy the layout on this page into Word or Google Docs, or make it in the free menu maker and download a PDF, with no sign-up or watermark.
Does a pub have to display prices outside?
Pubs and restaurants must display food and drink prices at or near the entrance under the Price Marking (Food and Drink Services) Order 2003, so customers can see them before they go in.
What spirit measures can a UK pub use?
Gin, rum, vodka and whisky must be sold in 25ml or 35ml measures or multiples of them, and not both on the same premises. Say on the menu which one you use.
Do pubs have to offer small measures?
In England and Wales, yes. Half pints, 25ml or 35ml spirits and 125ml glasses of wine must be available and shown on a menu or price list, and customers made aware of them.
How should a pub word a service charge?
Say what it is and whether it's optional, for example "A discretionary 10% service charge is added to tables of 8 or more". All tips and service charges must go to staff.
