Careem Food closed its UAE restaurant food-delivery service in early 2025, so there is no current Careem restaurant commission. While it ran, Careem advertised 0% food commission but charged per-order fees instead: a 2026 industry guide records about AED 1.83 per order plus a 2.95% payment-gateway fee plus an AED 6.50 delivery fee, which came to roughly 10% to 22% of the order depending on its value.
Careem Food no longer runs restaurant delivery in the UAE; it closed the service in early 2025. Careem doesn't publish a current rate. Worth knowing
Exclusivity. Ministerial Decision 32 of 2026 limits exclusive deals between delivery apps and restaurants to 12 months and to 10% of an app's restaurants. It sets no cap on commission.
Dubai. Guidelines issued in September 2025 require 30 days' notice of changes and monthly itemised statements of sales, commissions and deductions. Marketing fees must be optional and clearly disclosed.
Careem closed its UAE restaurant food-delivery marketplace in early 2025 to focus on its super-app (rides, grocery, courier and payments). A restaurant-software guide (Horex, April 2026) states Careem "shut down its restaurant food delivery service in early 2025."
One 2026 commission guide (Online eMenu, July 2026) still describes Careem's restaurant fees as if the service were running; we treat the exit reports as current and flag the conflict rather than hide it. If you still see Careem Food taking orders in your emirate, confirm the fees in your own agreement.
Careem launched its "commission-free" model for UAE restaurants in February 2021, replacing an earlier percentage commission. "Commission-free" meant no cut of the food value, but the per-order fees still cost money, and on small baskets a bigger share than a typical percentage commission.
The live UAE apps a restaurant can list on today are talabat, noon Food, Deliveroo and Keeta.
