Your own food truck ordering app, with your truck's name on it
Updated October 19, 2026
A food truck ordering app lets customers order and pay from their phone before they reach your window, so the line moves faster and fewer people walk away from it. With Menuthere's Branded App plan, that app carries your truck's name and icon on the App Store and Google Play. We build and publish it for you. Because your truck moves, the most useful part is often the push notification: before you open, you tell your followers where you'll be and until when. It costs $99 a month ($990 a year billed yearly), there's nothing to pay at signup, and we take 0% commission on your orders.
In short
- Your truck's own app: your name and icon on Google Play and the App Store, built and published by Menuthere. Apple and Google store fees are included.
- Order ahead, shorter lines: customers order and pay in the app, and get order updates on their phone.
- Tell followers where you'll be: write a push with today's spot and hours, send it now or schedule it, or repeat it weekly for a regular stop.
- One menu everywhere: the app, your ordering website and the QR code on your truck all use the same menu.
- Loyalty points and WhatsApp ordering come with it, because Branded App includes everything in Pro.
- $99 a month, 0% commission. Nothing to pay at signup: your first month is paid before we start building and counts from the day your app goes live. No free trial on this plan.
Why a food truck needs ordering more than a restaurant does
A restaurant has a fixed address and regulars who know where to find it. A food truck has a line, a short service window and a location that changes. That changes what you need from an app:
| Food truck problem | How your own app helps |
|---|---|
| Long lines at peak time | Customers order and pay in the app before they get to you. Your team sees the order and gets it ready. |
| Customers don't know where you are today | You write a push notification with your spot and hours and send it to everyone who installed your app, or to followers only. |
| The same weekly stops | Set a push to repeat weekly, like "Taco Tuesday at the brewery, 5 to 9 pm", so you don't have to remember to send it. |
| Regulars who order the same thing | They reorder a past order in a tap. |
| Few chances to see each customer | Customers see their loyalty points in your app, which gives them a reason to come back to your truck. |
One thing to be clear about: Menuthere doesn't show your truck on a live map. The push notification is a message you write, so it says exactly where you'll be.
Two settings suit a truck. For pickup only, switch Delivery off in Settings → Ordering → Order types, and customers see takeaway only. To stop orders when you pack up early, press Open/Closed in the dashboard header and choose Until the next opening time.
What you get with a Menuthere branded app
| You get | What it means for a food truck |
|---|---|
| Your own app on Android and iOS | Your truck's name and icon on Google Play and the App Store. Menuthere publishes it, and Apple's $99 a year and Google Play's $25 developer fees are included. |
| Order, pay and reorder | Customers browse your menu, order and pay in the app, and repeat a past order in a tap. |
| Order updates on their phone | Each order's status is pushed to the customer's phone, so they know when to walk up. |
| Unlimited push notifications | A title up to 65 characters, a message up to 240 and an optional photo. Send to all app users or followers only, now, scheduled, or repeating daily or weekly. |
| Loyalty points | Customers see their points in your app. |
| Everything in Pro | WhatsApp Business API on your own number, discounts, advanced analytics and several outlets. |
| Staff app that rings | Whoever is at the window receives orders on the Menuthere partner app for Android and iPhone. It rings until each order is accepted. |
| One menu everywhere | The app, your ordering website and your QR code share one menu. Sold out of brisket? Change it once and it changes everywhere. |
Push notification ideas for a food truck
Send them from Sales channel → App → App notification in your dashboard. A few ideas:
- Today's spot: "We're on 5th and Main today, 11 am to 2 pm. Order ahead in the app."
- Weekly stops: "Taco Tuesday at the brewery, 5 to 9 pm." Set it to repeat weekly.
- Events: "Find us at the Saturday market, from 9 am." Schedule it the night before.
- Changes: "Rain today, we're closed. Back tomorrow at the usual spot."
- New on the menu: a photo of this week's special and one line.
There's no limit on how many you send. Read more in the push notifications guide.
How to get your food truck app
- Press Get your app. Sign up with the Branded App plan. Nothing is paid at signup. Questions first? Book a call with us.
- Add your menu. Set up your store and add at least 10 dishes, each with a photo. Then press Register App on your dashboard and book a call with Menuthere's founder.
- Pay the first month, and we build it. After the call, you pay the first month in advance. Send us your app's name, icon and brand color, and we build your app and publish it on Google Play and the App Store. We tell you when it's live, and your subscription counts from that day.
- Get it on customers' phones. Put a QR code and the store badges on your truck and menu board, and ask people in line to install the app for next time.
Do you need an app, or is a website enough?
Be honest about your customers:
- Mostly passers-by and event crowds? Start with Menuthere's free ordering website. Put its QR code on the truck; people scan, order and pay in the phone's browser without installing anything. The website doesn't send push notifications, but Pro stores can send WhatsApp order updates instead.
- Regulars who follow you around town? That's when your own app earns its place. Your icon on their phone and a push about today's spot bring them to you.
- Not sure yet? Start on Free, Lite or Pro and move to Branded App later. Your menu, orders and customers come with you.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best ordering app for a food truck?
For a food truck that wants regulars to order straight from it, your own app works best: your name on their phone, ordering ahead to skip the line, and push notifications that tell followers where you'll be. Menuthere builds and publishes that app for $99 a month, with 0% commission. If most of your customers are passers-by, start with the free ordering website and a QR code on the truck.
Can customers order ahead and skip the line?
Yes. Customers order and pay in your app before they reach the truck, and get order updates on their phone.
Can I tell customers where my truck will be today?
Yes, with a push notification you write. Send it to all app users or to followers only, right away or scheduled. The app doesn't show your truck on a live map; the notification says where you'll be.
Can I schedule a weekly notification for a regular stop?
Yes. Push notifications can be scheduled or set to repeat daily or weekly, and there's no limit on how many you send.
How much does a food truck ordering app cost with Menuthere?
The Branded App plan is $99 a month, or $990 a year billed yearly. That includes building and publishing your app on the App Store and Google Play, Apple's and Google's developer fees, and everything in the Pro plan. Menuthere takes 0% commission. Your card payment gateway charges its own processing fee.
Do I need an app if customers can scan a QR code?
Not always. The QR code can open your free ordering website, which works in the phone's browser with no install. An app helps when regulars follow your truck and you want to reach them with push notifications. Both use the same menu and dashboard.
How long until my app is live?
We start building once your first month is paid and you've sent your app details, and we tell you when it's live on the App Store and Google Play. Apple's and Google's reviews set part of the timing. Your subscription counts from the day the app goes live, not from the day you pay.
Is there a free trial?
Not on the Branded App plan, because we build and publish an app for you. There's nothing to pay at signup, though: your first month is paid before we start building. If you want to try Menuthere first, Lite and Pro have a 7-day free trial (a card is needed to start it, and nothing is charged until it ends).
