Rappi, Uber Eats or DiDi Food: which charges least?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Updated
It depends on your operation. Uber Eats lists 25%, 27% or 29% in Mexico by plan, plus 16% VAT. DiDi Food charges about 30% on delivery and ~5% on pickup, plus VAT. Rappi does not publish its rate; it tells you when you sign up (roughly 20%-35% + VAT). The only way to pay 0% commission is your own ordering channel. Updated October 2026.

How much does each app charge in Mexico?
Uber Eats publishes three plans: 25% (Lite), 27% (Plus) and 29% (Premium), with payment processing included and plus 16% VAT; on Lite and Plus it asks you to invest 5% and 4% of your sales in ads or offers. DiDi Food is around 30% on delivery and 5% on pickup, plus VAT. Rappi does not publish its rate: a 2026 software guide puts it between 20% and 35%, plus VAT.
| App | Delivery | Pickup | VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uber Eats | 25-29% | not published | +16% |
| DiDi Food | ~30% | ~5% | +16% |
| Rappi | not published (approx 20-35%) | not published | +16% |
| Your own website | 0% | 0% | - |
Which suits me to start?
The cheapest depends on your operation: the city, whether you or the app delivers, and how much you spend on ads inside the app. If you do a lot of pickup, DiDi Food is gentler there; if you sell volume on delivery, Uber Eats' base plan is the lowest published rate. Because Rappi does not publish its rate, ask for it in writing before you sign. See the Rappi commission breakdown for Mexico.
How do I stop paying commission entirely?
With your own ordering channel: you pay a flat monthly fee instead of a percentage, so once your orders cover the fee each order keeps its full value. With Menuthere it is 0% commission on every plan and the Free plan is $0. The usual pattern is to keep the apps for discovery and send repeat customers to your own link. More in how to take orders without paying commission.
Who this is a good fit for
- Owners comparing apps who want the real cost before signing.
- Restaurants that already have repeat customers and can send them to their own link.
- Places that want to start free and move to a paid plan only when it pays for itself.
Who this is not for
- A brand-new place with no customer base: the apps bring the first orders and the discovery a website alone does not.
- Owners who need a fleet to deliver across the whole city for them; that is what the apps give, not an own channel.
Common follow-up questions
Do the apps add VAT to the commission?
Yes. In Mexico 16% VAT is added on top of the commission, so a 29% fee really costs more. Uber Eats adds VAT to its commissions and ad fees; DiDi Food and Rappi do too.
Why doesn't Rappi state its commission?
Rappi does not publish its rate in Mexico; it negotiates it with you at sign-up, by city and type of operation. Ask for it in writing. 2026 guides put it roughly between 20% and 35%.
Can I use an app and my own page at the same time?
Yes. Many restaurants keep the apps for discovery and send repeat customers to their commission-free ordering link, where they don't lose a cut of every order.
