How much does Rappi charge restaurants?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Updated
Rappi does not publish its commission in Mexico; it tells you at sign-up and negotiates by city and type of operation. A 2026 software guide (Parrot Software) puts it at an approximate 20% to 35% of the order, so treat it as a range, not a fixed rate. On top comes 16% VAT on the commission. Joining is free. Updated October 2026.

What percentage does Rappi charge exactly?
There is no public number. Rappi's merchant pages say it tells you the commission at sign-up and that joining is free. A 2026 restaurant-software guide (Parrot Software) describes it negotiated at 20% to 35% by city and type of operation; PoloTab agrees Rappi does not publish its rate. On top of that commission comes 16% VAT, so the real cost is a little higher than the headline percentage.

Does it charge more or less than Uber Eats or DiDi Food?
You can't say for sure because Rappi doesn't publish its rate. What is published: Uber Eats lists 25% to 29% on its three plans, and DiDi Food a 30% service fee when its couriers deliver (5% on pickup), always plus 16% VAT. To compare them in full, see Rappi, Uber Eats or DiDi Food: which charges less.
How do I take orders without paying commission?
With your own channel: an ordering page, a QR menu, your Google listing and WhatsApp. You pay a flat monthly fee instead of a percentage, so once your orders cover the fee each order keeps its full value. With Menuthere it is 0% commission on every plan and the Free plan is $0 (50 orders a month).
- A commission-free ordering page with your own link.
- A QR menu on the tables and the packaging.
- WhatsApp ordering on your own number with a copy of every order.
- The link on your Google listing, Instagram and Facebook.
Who this is a good fit for
- Restaurants with repeat customers that want to stop losing up to a third on every order.
- Owners who can send customers to their own link through QR codes, Google, Instagram and WhatsApp.
- Owners who want to start free and move to a paid plan only when it pays for itself.
Who this is not for
- A brand-new place with no customer base: Rappi's marketplace can bring the first orders while you build your channel alongside it.
- Owners who need a fleet to deliver across the whole city for them; that is the app's job, not your own page.
Common follow-up questions
Why doesn't Rappi publish its commission?
Rappi negotiates the rate by city and type of operation and tells you at sign-up. That is why only approximate ranges from outside guides exist (20%–35% per Parrot Software, 2026), not one official number.
Does Rappi add VAT to the commission?
Yes. Rappi's merchant pages say the commission is a percentage plus VAT, which in Mexico is 16%. A 27.5% commission really costs about 31.9% with VAT.
What happens if a customer cancels the order?
Rappi says that when a customer cancels, it usually pays the restaurant 35% of the order value and charges no commission on it. Confirm the current terms in your contract.
