For Sri Lankan restaurants
Uber Eats publishes 30% of the order when its couriers deliver in Sri Lanka, and PickMe Food charges a 30% standard usage fee. Your own ordering page, QR codes and WhatsApp orders carry 0% commission on Menuthere.
Free plan: 50 orders a month and 0% commission. Find your restaurant on Google and your menu and ordering site are ready to share.

The short answer
An online ordering system for a restaurant in Sri Lanka is your own ordering website plus a dashboard. Customers choose pickup, delivery or dine-in on their phone from a link or a table QR code. You get the order on your phone and keep the customer's details. The menu opens in the phone's browser, so nobody downloads an app.
Delivery apps take a share of each order (see the next section). Menuthere takes 0% on every plan. You pay for the plan: Free with 50 orders a month, Lite at US$9 or Pro at US$39, billed in US dollars.
One limit comes first. Stripe's supported-countries page does not list Sri Lanka at all, so Menuthere cannot take online card payments for a Sri Lankan restaurant. Customers pay cash on delivery or at the restaurant, or through a payment link or bank details you add yourself. Menuthere does not connect PayHere or a local bank gateway.
What you pay the apps today
Both apps print a rate for Sri Lanka. Many owners run an app and their own page together: the app brings new customers, and your page serves the ones you already have. Menuthere does not pull app orders into its dashboard.
| App | What the restaurant pays | Fees on top | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uber Eats | 30% of the order when Uber's couriers deliver. 15% on pickup. Card processing is included. | VAT and the Social Security Contribution Levy are added to the fee where they apply. A one-time activation fee of LKR 1,000 is taken from your payout after your first LKR 1,000 of sales. Ads are optional and charged separately. | Uber Eats pricing, Sri Lanka and merchant terms (last modified 16 June 2026), read 25 September 2026. |
| PickMe Food | 30% standard usage fee on the total orders from restaurants. PickMe Marketplace (shops) sets its fee by business category. | No separate card fee is listed. Payouts arrive the next working day once you are owed more than LKR 3,000. | PickMe merchant page, read 11 October 2026. PickMe FAQs, updated 30 June 2025. |
Illustration, arithmetic only: 300 orders a month at LKR 2,500 is LKR 750,000 of sales. At 30% that is LKR 225,000 before VAT on the fee. Menuthere commission is LKR 0. At 300 orders you would be on Lite, US$9 a month. This assumes every order goes through the app and the percentage applies to the order value. Real costs also include riders and your own delivery. For the full breakdown see Uber Eats commission in Sri Lanka and PickMe Food commission in Sri Lanka.
Payments
Online card payments on Menuthere run on your own Stripe account. Stripe's supported-countries page does not list Sri Lanka, so a Sri Lankan store has no online card checkout on Menuthere (stripe.com/global, read 11 October 2026). Menuthere does not connect PayHere or a bank gateway.
Checkout shows "Cash on delivery" for delivery orders and "Pay at store" for pickup and dine-in. The dashboard marks these orders as COD, so the kitchen knows cash is due.
On every plan you can add your own payment link or bank details to the checkout. Share the account for a transfer, or a payment link from a provider you already use, and confirm on WhatsApp. You check each payment yourself. Menuthere does not confirm it for you.
No card checkout, and no automatic confirmation of bank or QR payments. Menuthere takes no cut of any payment. If you need payments confirmed at checkout, some Sri Lankan tools connect PayHere. The last section compares them.
Order types
Customers open your menu in their phone's browser and order without installing anything. It suits a café, a restaurant with tables, a cloud kitchen or a home kitchen.
Customers choose Takeaway, order from your page and collect. Pay at store is available on every plan.
Customers type their address. The free plan has a delivery radius, fees and minimums. Lite adds fees by distance and delivery areas drawn on a map. Pro adds an app for your own riders with live tracking. Menuthere does not book PickMe or Uber couriers for you.
Print a QR code for each table. A dashboard setting can check the diner is at the restaurant before an order goes through. A second order from the same table joins the open bill. More in table ordering.
On Lite, customers pick a time. The same plan covers table slot booking. It suits cakes and party trays.
Orders ring on the partner app (Android and iPhone) until someone accepts them. Auto-accept is available. Print the kitchen ticket and the bill from the dashboard. Staff logins are unlimited.
Sizes and add-ons are on every plan. Import your menu from a photo or a PDF. Mark items out of stock. You set the store currency, so prices can show in rupees.
Channels
Many small Sri Lankan restaurants and home kitchens take orders in WhatsApp and Instagram messages. The same orders can arrive on one page. See the free WhatsApp ordering system page and the free WhatsApp order page.
Put your ordering website link in your Instagram bio, your WhatsApp status and your Google profile. Put QR codes on tables and flyers.
Customers can chat with you on WhatsApp from the menu, and you get a copy of each order on your number.
Customers send "Hi" and get an Order Now button that opens the menu. Pro adds automatic order-status messages, broadcasts and your own WhatsApp bot. We have not tested a Sri Lankan number on this set-up, so use the 7-day trial first. Meta bills the messages to your account, and Menuthere takes no cut. Meta's rate card from 1 October 2026 lists Sri Lanka at US$0.002 for utility and US$0.0732 for marketing messages (calculator).
Set-up
Plans are priced and billed in US dollars, so the rupee amount moves with the exchange rate. Month to month, no contract, and a 7-day free trial on Lite and Pro.
You can set any currency for the store, so customers see LKR prices.
In Settings, Payments, Tax, switch on "Charge tax on orders", enter a percentage and your tax number, and call it VAT. It shows at checkout and on bills. The Inland Revenue Department's notice of 28 December 2023 sets the VAT rate at 18% from 1 January 2024. Whether you must register depends on your turnover, so ask your accountant. Menuthere does not file VAT with the Inland Revenue Department.
Free is $0 with 50 orders a month, then the menu turns view-only until the 1st or you upgrade. Lite is US$9 and Pro is US$39. See pricing.
You keep the customer list from your own orders. Lite adds full order history and a customer list export. Read who owns the customer data from delivery app orders.
Compared
A fair look at tools Sri Lankan owners consider, from each vendor's published pages (checked 27 September 2026). This is not a ranking. The full list is the ordering systems for Sri Lanka.
| System | What it is | Published price | Fee on orders | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Menuthere | Ordering website, QR, table ordering, WhatsApp. Sign up yourself. | Free (50 orders a month), Lite US$9, Pro US$39 | 0% on every plan, no per-order fee | Owners who take cash and want a page, QR and WhatsApp at 0% commission |
| Delivergate | Branded ordering website (Webshop), table QR ordering and a POS, set up and trained by its team | Starter LKR 4,900 a month (Webshop and table QR). Growth Kit LKR 9,900. | 0% on Webshop sales, per Delivergate. PayHere charges its own fee on card payments. | Owners who want online card payments through PayHere and a team to set it up |
| OrderNow | QR table ordering, takeaway and delivery ordering with a web POS and kitchen tickets | Free view-only menu. Pro LKR 4,800 a month. Ultra LKR 9,600. | 0% order commission. Stripe and PayHere charge their own processing fees. | Cafés and restaurants that want QR ordering and a cloud POS in rupees |
| OMAK | Cloud POS from Colombo that brings Uber Eats and PickMe Food orders into one screen. Online ordering is a paid add-on. | Restaurant Essential US$50 a month. Online Ordering add-on US$35. | Not published. Flat subscription and add-on fees only. | Restaurants that want one POS for dine-in and app orders |
Delivergate and OrderNow list PayHere or Stripe at checkout, and OMAK takes app orders into its POS. Menuthere does neither in Sri Lanka. If those matter more than 0% commission and a self-serve sign-up, look at them first.
