Who pays when a Zomato customer cancels after I've cooked the food?
Updated 13 October 2026
It depends on who delivers and when the cancel comes. With Zomato riders, a cancel after pickup is paid as a successful order. Before pickup it pays 80% of net order value, or 40%.
- Zomato riders, after pickup: paid as a successful order when the cancel isn't your fault.
- Before pickup: 80% of net order value if your Order Ready marks were at least 80% accurate last week, otherwise 40%.
- You deliver: a cancel after 80% of the estimated delivery time is paid in full, an earlier one at 40%.
- Nothing is paid within 60 seconds of ordering, or for rejections, wrong orders and food-quality issues.
- The policy is undated and changes on 7 days' notice.
