Can a courier refuse to carry my food order?
Updated 16 October 2026
Yes. Porter's terms say it may refuse any booking without giving a reason, and restricted items include dry ice, flammables, hazardous goods, cigarettes and alcohol.
- Goods are carried on a "said to contain" basis, with a declared value.
- Read your courier's own terms before you depend on it for a rush.
- Have a back-up, such as your own rider, for orders a courier turns down.
- Other couriers have their own rules.
Keep your own riders as a back-up
Use your own riders and book Porter or Rapido from the Menuthere dashboard, so an order a courier turns down still gets delivered.
