How do I test online payments before my ordering website goes live?

Test in a sandbox with fake cards such as 4242 4242 4242 4242, so no money moves. After you go live, place one small real order yourself and refund it.

• Sandbox: Stripe lets you simulate transactions with test values. These don't move funds.
• Test cards: they act as fake credit cards. For interactive testing, use a number such as 4242 4242 4242 4242.
• Apple Pay: to test it, use a real card number with your test API keys. Stripe test cards can't be saved to Apple Pay wallets.
• Place a test order on your own ordering link and check it reaches your phone and dashboard before sharing the link.
