What is a chargeback and how much does it cost on Stripe?

A chargeback is when a customer asks their bank to reverse a card payment. On Stripe the dispute fee is $15 in the US and £20 in the UK.
- Other fees: €20 in the EU, AED 60 in the UAE, A$25 in Australia, CA$15 in Canada, ₹1,000 in India.
- Stripe takes the disputed amount plus the fee from your balance.
- If you win, the countered fee is refunded. The received fee is not.
- An early inquiry can be settled without a dispute fee.
