Why is my online order refund stuck as pending?

On Stripe, refunds are paid from your available balance. If the balance is too low, card refunds stay pending until enough money arrives.

• Cause: the refund is taken from your available Stripe balance, not from a separate fund.
• Wait: the refund stays pending until the balance is high enough, then goes through.
• Fix: wait for new payments to build your balance. The refund then goes through.
• Partial refunds are allowed and need less balance than a full refund.
