Can a customer send me a payment screenshot that disappears on WhatsApp?
Updated 18 October 2026
Yes. A customer can send a view-once photo that opens one time and then disappears. You cannot save, forward or star it, so never trust a screenshot alone: check the money in your own bank or payment app.
- One look only: after it is opened, the photo disappears from the chat and cannot be viewed again.
- No saving: you cannot forward, copy, save, star or share view-once media, and it does not go to your Gallery.
- 14 days: the recipient has 14 days to open it before it expires.
- What to do: ask for a normal photo or a payment reference, then match it to your own account before you cook.
Get paid without screenshots
Customers can pay online as they order, to your own payment account. The payment shows next to the order in your dashboard, so there is no screenshot to check.
