What should I do if the phone I take WhatsApp orders on is lost or stolen?
Updated 11 October 2026
Lock the SIM with your mobile provider, then put the same number on a new phone. Only one phone can use a number, so this switches the lost phone off. Restore chats from a backup if you have one.
- Step 1: call your mobile provider and lock the SIM.
- Step 2: verify the same number in WhatsApp on a new phone. This deactivates the account on the old phone.
- No new SIM yet: email WhatsApp with the words Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account and your full international number.
- Time limit: a deactivated account is kept for up to 30 days, then deleted if not activated.
- Chats: if you backed up before the loss, you may be able to restore them.
Keep taking orders on another phone
Orders on Menuthere also reach the dashboard and the partner app, which staff can open on another phone, so orders keep coming while WhatsApp is replaced.
