Free food truck menu template for your window board
Updated October 20, 2026
Open our free food truck menu template, add your dishes and prices, and print it as a landscape board for your truck's window: it's the Food truck design in our free menu maker, with a bold color band, big price tags and three short sections. No sign-up, no email and no watermark. Download a PDF on Letter, A4 or A3, or an image for your social posts. Below is what's in it and how big your letters need to be for people to read them from the line.
In short
- The template: Food truck layout, yellow, big prices, sections for Tacos, Bowls and Sides and drinks.
- Print it as a counter board: landscape Letter (11 × 8.5 in), A4, or A3 (16.5 × 11.7 in) for a bigger window.
- Letter height: at 6 feet a guest needs letters at least 5/8 inch tall; add 1/8 inch for every foot farther away (the ADA's sign table, used here as a guide).
- Keep it short: a board with 10 to 12 items can be read before guests reach the window.
What's in the food truck menu template
It opens as "Rolling Tacos", a taco truck. Swap in your own dishes, or paste your list.
| Section | Example dishes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Tacos | Carne asada, Chicken tinga, Baja fish, Grilled veggie | The main seller first, with one-line fillings |
| Bowls | Burrito bowl, Loaded nachos | A bigger, higher-priced plate |
| Sides and drinks | Chips and salsa, Street corn, Horchata | Add-ons guests pick at the window |
The price sits in a colored tag at the end of each line, so it stands out from across the sidewalk. Running a Mexican sit-down restaurant instead? Use the Mexican menu template.
How big should the letters on a food truck menu be?
Menus are exempt from the ADA's sign rules, but the ADA's table for visual characters is the only public standard for letters people must read at a distance. It's a good guide for a board:
| Board height above the ground | Guest's distance | Minimum letter height |
|---|---|---|
| 40 to 70 inches | under 6 feet | 5/8 inch |
| 40 to 70 inches | 6 feet or more | 5/8 inch + 1/8 inch per foot beyond 6 feet |
| above 70 inches, up to 10 feet | under 15 feet | 2 inches |
| above 70 inches, up to 10 feet | 15 feet or more | 2 inches + 1/8 inch per foot beyond 15 feet |
Worked example. Your window board hangs about 60 inches up and the line forms 10 feet away. That's 4 feet beyond 6, so letters should be at least 5/8 + 4/8 = 1 1/8 inches tall. A board mounted above the window (over 70 inches) and read from the curb 12 feet away needs 2-inch letters.
Measure a capital letter on your printout. If it's too small, cut items rather than shrinking the type, or ask a print shop to enlarge the PDF to poster size. A specials sign that changes every day is quicker with the daily specials board.
