WhatsApp ordering for restaurants in Pakistan
Updated October 19, 2026
A Pakistani restaurant doesn't need a reseller to get the WhatsApp Business API. With Menuthere, you connect your own number to the official WhatsApp Business Platform with Facebook sign-in, and Meta bills your WhatsApp account directly. Menuthere is an official Meta Tech Provider and adds no markup. On Meta's card effective October 1, 2026, each order update to a Pakistani number costs US$0.015, and the reply to a customer's "Hi" falls inside 1,000 free service messages a month. Customers order from your menu in rupees and pay cash on delivery or at pickup.
In short
- Get the API on your own number in a few minutes, from inside Menuthere. No separate provider contract.
- US$0.015 per order update, US$0.0473 per marketing message, billed by Meta in US dollars.
- Cash on delivery and pay at pickup on every plan. Menuthere doesn't connect JazzCash, Easypaisa or Raast, and Stripe doesn't open accounts in Pakistan.
- Pro plan, US$39 a month, for WhatsApp ordering, automatic updates and broadcasts.
How to get the WhatsApp Business API in Pakistan
- Use your existing number. It should be on the WhatsApp Business app on your phone. You link that same number, so customers keep messaging the number they know, and you can keep chatting from the app. See moving your Business app number to the API.
- Have a Facebook account that can manage your business on Meta, or create the business while connecting.
- In Menuthere, go to Sales channel → WhatsApp → Connect WhatsApp, sign in with Facebook in the pop-up, choose your business and pick your number. You come back to "WhatsApp connected".
- Add a payment method in Meta's WhatsApp Manager. Meta bills you, not Menuthere.
- Verify your business with Meta when you can. Verification raises your daily sending limit. Read do I need Meta business verification.
- Switch on the flows: Welcome (the "Hi" → Order Now reply) and the order updates you want.
The WhatsApp side needs Pro. Before that, you can build your menu on the Free plan.
WhatsApp Business API pricing in Pakistan
Pakistan is a named market on Meta's card. There's no rupee card, so Pakistani accounts usually pay in US dollars. From "Cost per message in USD on the WhatsApp Business Platform, effective October 1, 2026", for +92 numbers:
| Category | Price | In a Menuthere order |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | US$0.0473 | Offers, broadcasts, comeback messages |
| Utility | US$0.015 | Each order update: placed, accepted, ready, dispatched, completed |
| Service | US$0.015 | The reply to "Hi" with the Order Now button |
- Updates are always billed. Menuthere sends them as utility templates.
- The "Hi" reply is free up to 1,000 a month per business number, as a service message.
- Overseas customers ordering for family pay their own country's rate. A message to a UAE number costs US$0.0157 per update; to a UK number, the UK rate.

Cash on delivery, done properly
- Cash on delivery and pay at pickup are on for every store; you can turn cash off per order type once online payment exists.
- JazzCash, Easypaisa and Raast aren't connected to Menuthere. If you take them, confirm the payment in your own account before you cook and record how the order was paid.
- Big or first-time orders? Read should I ask for payment before cooking.
foodpanda and WhatsApp side by side
foodpanda doesn't publish its Pakistani commission. Our commission page cites public reports of about 25% to 35% of the order, and notes that new partners pay an onboarding fee. Keep foodpanda for discovery and give regulars your WhatsApp number on every bag. Weighing options? See foodpanda alternatives.
Worked example: a Lahore karahi house, 600 WhatsApp orders a month
600 orders at PKR 1,500 (PKR 900,000 a month), Pakistani numbers, USD billing, cash on delivery.
| Full flow ("Hi" + 5 updates) | Lean flow ("Hi" + 3 updates) | |
|---|---|---|
| "Hi" replies (service) | 600, inside the 1,000 free | 600, inside the 1,000 free |
| Order updates (utility) | 600 × 5 = 3,000 | 600 × 3 = 1,800 |
| Updates at US$0.015 | US$45.00 | US$27.00 |
| One offer to 800 opted-in customers | US$37.84 | US$37.84 |
| Menuthere Pro | US$39 | US$39 |
The lean flow keeps Order placed, Order dispatched (with its Track Order button) and Order completed.
The same PKR 900,000 on foodpanda at 30%, the middle of the reported range: PKR 270,000, before any onboarding fee. Your contract rate is what counts.
Language and menu tips
- Urdu and English. You can edit every flow's wording, so the Welcome reply can be in Urdu. Templates must be submitted to Meta in the language you write them in; check Meta's language list first. See sending updates in another language.
- Urdu dish names. Urdu isn't one of the menu language button's 13 languages. Add Urdu as a dish's second name (every plan); it shows on a second line under the English name in layouts that show it.
- Tax. Add your tax number so it shows on the bill, and show prices in rupees.
- Get the first "Hi". Print a QR with the WhatsApp QR sticker maker and make a pre-filled link with the WhatsApp link generator.
How the flow works end to end: how "send Hi to order" works. For the website side, see the Pakistan online ordering system.
