The best ordering systems for bars and pubs, scored

A busy bar or pub wants guests to scan a QR code at the table, order a round and pay from their phone, so staff pour instead of taking orders. These seven do QR order-and-pay at the table, and most name bars or pubs in their own pitch. Three publish a flat monthly price with 0% commission on the venue's own orders; the rest charge a per-payment or per-order fee. Updated October 2026.

1. Qamarero

Bars and restaurants in Spain, France and Italy that want a POS, QR order-and-pay at the table and their own commission-free pickup and delivery channel in one system.

Qamarero is a cloud POS whose own pitch is "bars and restaurants": every plan includes the POS, a waiter order pad, a QR menu with order-and-pay at the table, a kitchen display and a pickup-ordering page, at 0% commission on the venue's own orders. It is a flat monthly fee excluding VAT, from €119 a month (Basic) to €249 (Total), with no minimum term.

Guests pay at the table by card, Bizum, Apple Pay or Google Pay through a gateway integrated via Stripe or Monei (Pedir y pagar page); reservation prepayments and no-show penalties run through Stripe (reservations page). No processing rate is published.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · WhatsApp ordering or updates · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Menu translation · Reservations

  • Every plan includes the POS, waiter order pad, QR menu, kitchen display and order-and-pay from the table, and it runs on the tablets, phones or computers a venue already has (pricing page, home page).
  • Own-channel pickup (from Basic) and delivery (Delivery plan, €169 a month) take no commission; each delivery zone (postcode, radius or polygon) has its own fee and minimum order, with the restaurant's own riders or Uber Direct as a fallback (delivery page).
  • Guests order and pay at the table by card, Bizum, Apple Pay or Google Pay, add a tip and generate their own invoice (Pedir y pagar page); the QR menu is auto-translated into English, French and Italian (Carta digital page).
  • No free plan: Basic costs €119 a month + VAT, and own delivery zones and riders, the Uber Eats integration, reservations, loyalty and marketing need a plan from €169 a month (pricing, delivery, Uber Eats, reservations and loyalty pages; terms for VAT).
  • A one-time implementation fee of €200 (Basic) or €500 (Pro) applies unless the restaurant takes Total at €249 a month (pricing pages).
  • Basic's website is a landing page on a Qamarero subdomain; an own domain, premium templates, local SEO and a multi-language site need Growth or Total (Página web page).

2. Menuthere

Independent bars and pubs that want QR menu and order-and-pay at the table, plus their own pickup orders, at 0% commission with no contract.

Menuthere gives a bar its own QR menu and table ordering and a pickup-ordering page at 0% commission on every plan, with a free plan that includes 50 orders a month. Lite at $17 a month adds unlimited orders and your own domain; Pro at $39 adds WhatsApp order updates and the venue's own delivery riders. Lite and Pro come with a 14-day free trial, and it runs month to month.

  • Its own POS is basic (in-store billing, as a $10-a-month add-on), and the only outside POS it connects to is Petpooja, set up on Pro.
  • No integration with delivery apps such as Uber Eats or Deliveroo.
  • Online payments need Stripe, which doesn't open accounts in every country (India uses Razorpay, Easebuzz, Cashfree or OrangePG instead).

3. Favrit

Norwegian bars, restaurants and food halls that want the till, QR table ordering and commission-free takeaway ordering in one approved POS.

Favrit is a Norwegian cloud POS whose "best for" names bars: the till, QR table ordering and online takeaway ordering run in one system, and guests order in the phone browser with no app and pay in the same flow. It takes no commission or per-order fee of its own (card fees go to the acquirer) and is sold by quote from NOK 899 a month per venue, excluding VAT.

Favrit Payments runs card acquiring through Adyen or F1 (a Norwegian acquirer for BankAxept plus Elavon for international cards). Guests can pay with Vipps, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, BankAxept, cash or invoice. Softpay turns Android devices into card terminals. Nets appears in the integrations list, but the FAQ says Favrit does not use Nets as its acquirer.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Online payments · POS · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations

  • No commission on online orders and no per-transaction fee from Favrit itself; only the acquirer's card fees apply (homepage and FAQ).
  • QR table ordering, mobile ordering and online takeaway/pickup orders run in the same system as the till. Guests order in the phone browser with no app or login, pay in the same flow, and orders go straight to the right kitchen or bar.
  • Built for Norwegian rules: an approved cash register system, automatic Z-reports to the Norwegian Tax Administration's requirements, and 18 accounting systems supported out of the box (Tripletex, PowerOffice, Fiken, Visma, Xero and others). Norwegian support answers every day.
  • Only a starting price is published (NOK 899 a month per venue, excl. VAT). The final price, setup cost and hardware are quoted per venue, and Favrit says there is no published list price.
  • Made primarily for Norway: support and onboarding are in Norwegian, and there is no self-serve sign-up — venues book a demo or ask for a quote.
  • Contract terms are stated inconsistently: one page says no binding period, month to month; the FAQ says agreements typically start with a binding period set in each contract.

4. Storekit

UK bars and groups that want commission-free pickup and delivery under their own brand, with QR order & pay and pay-at-table on the Pro plan.

Storekit is a London ordering platform with a free Basic plan for pickup and delivery and QR order & pay, pay-at-table and digital tabs on Pro (£199 a month, rolling). It takes 0% commission on every plan and channel, charging its own card rate per paid order instead, and it works standalone or alongside tills such as Toast, Square and Lightspeed.

storekit Payments, powered by Adyen, takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and regional payment methods (a June 2025 copy of the help centre has articles on accepting Klarna and on iDEAL in the Netherlands). Payouts arrive about two working days after the sales day. Payment currencies: GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF, SEK, DKK, NOK, ZAR and ALL. The docs list Poland, Mexico, Turkey and Morocco as supported countries without storekit Payments.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Branded app · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Menu translation

  • 0% commission on every plan and channel, no setup fee, and a free Basic plan for pickup and delivery with no monthly fee. Basic, Grow and Pro are rolling monthly, cancel any time (pricing page).
  • One platform for pickup, delivery, catering pre-orders, QR order & pay, pay-at-table, digital tabs, kiosks and a native branded app (App Studio). It works standalone or connects to the till: Deliverect on every plan, Toast, Square, Lightspeed and Stream from Grow, Syrve, Tissl and 3S POS on Pro (pricing page).
  • Delivery can go to the restaurant's own riders or be dispatched to couriers: Uber Direct and Shipday from Basic, Nash, Pedal Me and Orkestro from Grow (the homepage also names Deliveroo Express), with live tracking for guests (homepage, pricing page).
  • Every paid order carries Storekit's own card rate, and the current pricing page no longer publishes the figures. The docs list 3.9% + 20p per takeaway order on a rolling plan (2.9% + 20p on a 12-month plan) and 3.9% + 20p on catering.
  • In-venue and catering ordering need paid plans: QR order & pay, pay-at-table and digital tabs need Pro (£199 a month rolling), catering needs Grow (£99), and POS integrations other than Deliverect start on Grow. App Studio adds £99 a month and kiosks £69 a month plus £30 per extra screen (pricing page).
  • Loyalty, the till and table bookings come from other systems: loyalty and CRM integrations are not on Basic (Klaviyo, Leat and Como from Grow; Airship and Acteol on Pro), Storekit sits alongside an existing POS rather than replacing it, and bookings come through an OpenTable integration (pricing page, docs).

5. me&u

Busy pubs, bars and food halls in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US that want guests to order and pay at the table, linked to their POS.

me&u is an Australian order-and-pay platform whose "best for" names pubs and bars: guests scan a QR code to order and pay from their phone at the table, and the same menu takes pickup and delivery. It connects to 70+ POS systems and adds reservations, a CRM and loyalty. Pricing is quote-only: me&u takes a fee on each order (at most 4.5% per its Australian help centre), and since 1 September 2026 guests in Australia also pay a A$0.20–A$2.90 platform fee unless the venue absorbs it.

Price
Quote only
Commission
Varies per venue (agreed with me&u); the Australian help centre says at most 4.5% per order, the same for dine-in, pickup and delivery orders
Online payments
me&u collects the guest's payment itself as the venue's payment collection agent, through Stripe (Stripe Connect), and pays venues out T+2 (five payouts a week) in Australia/New Zealand, the UK and the US, minus its fees; T+1 payouts are available on request at extra cost in the UK and US. Guests can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, saved cards, gift cards and mixed payments (Order & Pay and Pay pages); the restaurants page also lists tabs, tipping and Tap to Pay on iPhone.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Multiple locations · Menu translation · Reservations

  • One menu handles QR order-and-pay at the table plus pickup and delivery, with order-ahead windows and limits per time slot; in Australia, delivery can use DoorDash Drive drivers at a flat A$8.50 (ex GST) up to 1 km plus A$1 per km up to 10 km, with no DoorDash account or setup fee (me&u help centre).
  • Connects to 70+ POS systems (115+ integrations in total, including Lightspeed, Square, Toast and Tevalis), with loyalty partners Como, Zen Global, Leat and Myne and open POS, loyalty and order-data APIs (me&u home and integrations pages, help centre).
  • A wider suite beyond ordering: reservations with voice AI, the Connect CRM with email and SMS marketing, loyalty, and the Crew staff upsell app, plus menu translation and dietary and allergen preferences (me&u home, Connect and Order & Pay pages).
  • No published pricing: venues must talk to sales for a quote, and me&u takes a share of every order (up to 4.5%, per its Australian help centre), so it is not commission-free.
  • Since 1 September 2026, guests in Australia pay a me&u platform fee of up to A$2.90 per order; venues cannot turn it off, only absorb it from their payout (me&u help centre).
  • Built around dine-in: its guest terms say items can be ordered only when dining in the venue or, "in some limited circumstances", for takeaway, and it has no POS of its own, so it runs on top of a POS integration or a direct-to-printer setup (me&u terms, help centre).

6. Qerko

Czech, Slovak and Hungarian pubs, restaurants and cafés with a compatible POS that want guests to order, split the bill and pay from their phones at the table.

Qerko's own "best for" names pubs: guests scan a QR code at the table to order, split the bill and pay, and it feeds the venue's existing POS. In Czechia and Slovakia there is no monthly fee — a fixed fee per payment (2.90 CZK or €0.12) plus 1.35% card processing and a one-time starter pack from 2,890 CZK — while Hungary has monthly packages from 10,000 HUF. Since 20 July 2026 guests in Czechia also pay a 3 CZK service fee per payment.

Qerko processes payments itself through Piano Payments s.r.o., which holds an EU-wide payment-institution licence from the Czech National Bank, and pays restaurants within 48 working hours of receiving each payment (merchant terms). Guests pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; in selected venues also by Pluxee, Edenred, Naše Stravenka, Benefit Plus or Up meal-voucher cards, or later with Twisto or Mall Pay. Qerko says venues can accept up to 15 payment methods, including Bitcoin. Qpoint's web shop has a built-in payment gateway (provider not named). Qerko also sells Piano Terminal, a card terminal linked to the till: service priced by quote, hardware 380 CZK a month or free above a set turnover, with a 24-month commitment.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Online payments · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Delivery-app integration · Reservations

  • No monthly subscription in Czechia or Slovakia. One per-payment price (2.90 CZK or 0.12 EUR, plus 1.35% card processing) covers QR payment and bill splitting, mobile and take-away ordering, reservations, a digital menu with photos, guest messaging and a loyalty programme (Qerko price lists).
  • Works inside the restaurant's existing till: the menu is pulled from the POS, orders appear on the till or as a kitchen ticket with no extra tablet, and payments are marked on the bill. Qerko lists 26 partner POS systems in Czechia, including Dotykačka, Storyous and R_Keeper, and 6 in Hungary; its comparison table shows that supported features differ from one POS to another.
  • Large guest base: Qerko says more than 1.5 million guests use it in three European countries. CzechCrunch (February 2026) reported 1.7 million registered users, just under 340,000 paying through the app each month, more than 3 billion CZK paid through it in 2025, and about 1,600 restaurants in Czechia and about 100 in Hungary.
  • Every payment carries a fixed fee (2.90 CZK in Czechia) on top of 1.35% card processing, and meal-voucher cards cost 1.9% to 5.5%. A one-time starter pack of 2,890 to 12,590 CZK plus VAT is also charged, depending on the number of tables.
  • Since 20 July 2026, guests in Czechia pay a 3 CZK service fee on each Qerko payment except prepaid orders, and Qerko told CzechCrunch that restaurants cannot currently cover it for their guests.
  • Not a till of its own: Qerko connects to the restaurant's POS from its list of partner systems, and the Slovak price list says POS vendor fees are not included.

Full-service and multi-location bars and restaurants that want POS, online ordering and QR order-and-pay in one sales-led package.

It advertises 0% commission on those orders and suits multi-location venues. • Online, QR table and in-house orders land in the same POS; Order Anywhere has pickup-and-delivery and table profiles, and customers can order ahead for a later date or time (Lightspeed help centre).
  • Delivery can use the restaurant's own staff with its own zones, fees and minimums, or Uber Direct couriers with 0% commission and only a per-delivery fee (Uber Direct in the UK, Germany, Canada and the US only).
  • Orders from Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes can be sent to the POS through Deliverect (an add-on), and Order with Google sends Google Search and Maps users to the Order Anywhere site.
  • Online ordering and order-and-pay at table are not in the 69 USD Starter plan; they need the 189 USD Essential plan or a paid add-on (A$59 a month in Australia).
  • Card processing rates are not published on the US pricing page ('Default' on Starter, 'Custom' on Essential and Premium).
  • Not self-serve: plans start from a quote request, and Order Anywhere is bought through an account manager or sales@lightspeedhq.com.

How we scored them

Every score, so you can check the order.

Ranked by total score. Menuthere is our product and scores highest on this method (10 of 12), but we never rank our own product first, so it sits second; it loses the "names bars/pubs" point because its own pitch names cafés and independent restaurants, not bars, even though a bar can use its QR order-and-pay. Qamarero takes first on 10 by naming bars in its own "best for". Ties are broken first by whether the system names bars or pubs in its "best for", then by the lowest published starting price.

When a rival is the better choice

Pick another system over Menuthere if…

  • Qamarero: You run a bar in Spain, France or Italy and want the till, QR order-and-pay and a commission-free pickup and delivery channel from one supplier, and a one-time €200–€500 implementation fee is acceptable.
  • Favrit: You run a bar in Norway and want a tax-approved till with QR table ordering and no platform commission, and a quoted per-venue price and Norwegian-language support are fine.
  • Storekit: You run a UK bar or group that wants QR order & pay and digital tabs under your own brand with no platform commission and no contract, and you are fine paying Storekit's per-order card rate.
  • me&u: You run a high-volume pub or bar in Australia, NZ, the UK or the US, already have a POS from its 70+ integrations, and want reservations, CRM and loyalty alongside QR order-and-pay, with a per-order fee rather than a subscription.
  • Qerko: You run a pub in Czechia, Slovakia or Hungary on a POS from Qerko's partner list and want bill-splitting and pay-at-table with no monthly subscription, and the per-payment fee and guest service fee are acceptable.
  • Lightspeed Restaurant: You run a multi-site bar group and want one cloud POS covering in-house, takeaway, delivery and QR table orders from a sales-led supplier, and Essential at $189 a month or more fits the budget.

How we chose them

What put a system on this list.

  • A system qualifies if its dated profile on Menuthere shows QR order-and-pay at the table, it is active, and either its own "best for" or summary names bars or pubs, or it is a general order-and-pay system a bar can use.
  • Each system is scored on six criteria worth up to 2 points each (12 in all). The rubric and every score are in the table above, and each point comes from a fact in the system's profile.
  • Card processing is left out of the scores because every system charges it. Prices are each company's published prices on the date in its profile.
  • Nobody paid to be on this list. Prices change: check each company's own page before you sign.

Questions

Answered, plainly.

It depends on where you are. Qamarero (Spain, France, Italy) and Menuthere both score highest here, with QR order-and-pay at the table and 0% commission. Favrit suits bars in Norway, Storekit UK bars, me&u busy pubs in Australia, NZ, the UK and the US, Qerko pubs in Czechia and nearby, and Lightspeed multi-site bar groups.

Yes. All seven do QR order-and-pay at the table: a guest scans a code, sees the menu, orders and pays in the phone browser. Qamarero, Favrit, Menuthere, me&u and Qerko include it on their entry plan; Storekit puts QR order & pay and pay-at-table on its Pro plan (£199 a month), and Lightspeed includes it on Essential or sells it as an add-on.

Qamarero, Menuthere, Favrit, Storekit and Lightspeed take 0% commission on the venue's own orders, charging a subscription or a per-order card rate instead. Qerko charges a fixed fee per payment (2.90 CZK in Czechia), and me&u takes a per-order fee of up to 4.5%. Card processing is charged separately by the payment provider in every case.

Menuthere's free plan covers 50 orders a month at 0% commission, and Storekit's free Basic plan handles pickup and delivery (you pay only its per-order card rate; QR order & pay needs the Pro plan). The rest charge a monthly fee or a per-payment fee from the start.

Menuthere and Storekit both have a free tier. Among published monthly prices, Menuthere's Lite is $17 a month, then Qamarero at €119 and Storekit's Grow at £99 (£82 on its comparison table). Qerko has no monthly fee in Czechia or Slovakia, charging per payment instead; me&u and Favrit are quote-only.
