The best table reservation systems for small restaurants, scored

These seven systems let a small restaurant or café take table bookings online and name independent venues among who they suit. Most take no per-cover fee on the bookings themselves, three include reservations on a free plan, and published prices start under €70 a month. Several also take pickup, delivery or QR table orders in the same system, so bookings and orders sit together.

1. resmio

Restaurants in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that mainly need table reservations and want pickup, delivery and QR table ordering in the same system, with no monthly fee to start.

resmio is a reservation and management system whose digital menu also takes pickup, delivery, Google and QR table orders. A free BASIC plan takes bookings; the paid plan is €69.90 a month, and the order fees (4% on pickup and delivery, 2% on QR table orders) apply to orders, not to the table bookings.

Price
Free plan · from €69.90/mo
Commission
4% of the order value on pickup and delivery orders (including orders through Google), 2% on QR table orders, and 6% on voucher and ticket sales. The order flat rate (149.90 EUR a month, PREMIUM or ULTIMATE only) removes the order commission. No commission is charged on online orders in the first 30 days after sign-up.
Online payments
Guests pay online through the restaurant's own Stripe and/or PayPal business account connected to resmio: credit card, SEPA direct debit and PayPal. The restaurant can also accept cash for pickup and delivery, with an optional cash limit, or payment to the waiter for QR orders. Tips can be switched on. Google 'Order online' is available only to restaurants that accept cash payments.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Marketing tools · Multiple locations · Reservations

  • The free BASIC plan includes the digital menu with pickup, delivery, Google and QR table ordering. resmio charges no setup fee and gives free support by phone, email and live chat (resmio pricing page).
  • Reservations, voucher and ticket sales and online orders run in one resmio account; the paid plans add a table plan and waitlist, and email newsletters come with the Marketing add-on (resmio pricing page).
  • Pickup and delivery settings include delivery zones drawn on a map with a fee for each, a minimum order value, order limits, lead time and pre-orders up to six days ahead (resmio help centre).
  • Ordering is not commission-free by default: resmio takes 4% of pickup and delivery orders and 2% of QR table orders. Removing the commission takes the 149.90 EUR a month order flat rate, which is listed only on the paid plans (from 69.90 EUR a month, net) (resmio pricing page).
  • PREMIUM and ULTIMATE need a 12-month minimum contract that renews for another 12 months unless cancelled in writing 4 weeks before the end. Monthly cancellation costs 10 EUR a month extra (resmio pricing page and terms).
  • Online card, SEPA and PayPal payments need the restaurant's own Stripe and/or PayPal business account. resmio has no POS of its own: it connects to orderbird, LINA, APRO and Vectron, mostly for reservations and menu import (resmio ordering and integrations pages).

3. Karma

Swedish restaurants and cafés that want POS, QR table ordering, takeaway ordering and loyalty in one system.

Karma combines a cloud POS with QR table ordering, online takeaway ordering, a kitchen display, loyalty and reservations. It lists a free plan and the Essential plan at 995 SEK a month; the POS side can need a 36-month agreement.

Karma's merchant terms (updated April 2022) say its service fee is a percentage of the order value, or a percentage plus a fixed fee per completed order, depending on the service, and that it is deducted from payouts. Its help centre says payout reports include "Karma commission" rows.
Online payments
Karma collects the guest's payment and pays the restaurant out, minus fees. QR and online ordering accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Swish and cards. Adyen processes card payments in the POS, on terminals and in Karma Serve ordering, and restaurants set up an Adyen payout account. Stripe processes Karma Save surplus sales.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations

  • The Free plan (0 kr per location) includes takeaway and online ordering, a kitchen display, inventory and surplus sales through Karma Save. No card is needed to sign up.
  • Prices are published per location. Essential (995 kr a month, or 829 kr billed annually) adds the POS and QR table ordering. Guests pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Swish or card before the order goes to the kitchen.
  • Orders from Wolt, Foodora and Uber Eats arrive in the same POS and kitchen queue, and bookkeeping goes straight to Fortnox. Karma's QR ordering and loyalty can also run on top of an existing Trivec POS.
  • The POS agreement runs for at least 36 months.
  • Karma does not publish the rates for payment processing or its own service fee. Its merchant terms describe a percentage-based fee that is deducted from payouts.
  • QR table ordering starts on Essential (995 kr a month) and scheduled orders on Connected (1 995 kr a month). SMS, extra kitchen screens, extra users and AI usage are billed on top, and Karma calls its prices indicative.

4. Eats365

Asia-Pacific restaurants and multi-brand groups that want an iPad POS, their own ordering website, QR ordering, reservations and delivery-app orders in one system.

Not published. The pricing page lists subscription fees only and shows no per-order commission.
Online payments
The restaurant links an integrated payment gateway in the Merchant Portal. Gateways documented for the Branded Online Store include Eats365's own 365pay aggregator (Eats365 partners with Adyen for it), Global Payments and KPay in Japan. Cash on pickup and cash on delivery can also be allowed.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Menu translation · Reservations

  • Has a free Biz-Lite plan for small merchants focused on online ordering. Paid plans are published and start at USD 25 a month on annual billing (Eats365 pricing page).
  • The Branded Online Store takes pickup, delivery, catering and QR dine-in orders plus reservations. Orders sync to the POS and kitchen display (Eats365 Knowledge Base).
  • Eats365 Biz collects orders from third-party delivery platforms, the Branded Online Store and the Eats365 Marketplace on one Android device (Eats365 Biz page).
  • The Branded Online Store has no published price: it is not on the pricing page and licences are bought through the sales team. Loyalty, reservations and gift cards are also 'Contact Us' (Eats365 pricing page, Eats365 Knowledge Base).
  • The online store only works when paired with an Eats365 POS, Biz or Biz Lite. Scan-to-Order (BYOD) and reservations each need a separate licence (Eats365 Knowledge Base).
  • Delivery on the online store is available only in some countries and regions (Eats365 Branded Online Store page).

5. Zenchef

Sit-down restaurants in France and the Benelux that mainly need commission-free table reservations and want simple pickup ordering in the same system.

Zenchef (ZenchefOS) is a reservation and guest-management platform for sit-down restaurants, with commission-free reservations and simple pickup ordering. It sells in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland from €129 a month.

Price
From €99/mo
Commission
0% on reservations ('0 EUR commission per cover'). The help centre says a commission applies to Takeaway (Click & Collect) orders when payment is taken at the time of ordering, with the fee shown in the restaurant's account. The pricing page's payment-fee table (not specific to takeaway) lists 6% (Reserve), 4% (Manage) or 2% (Grow) per credit card payment, and 6%, 4% or 3.5% for AMEX. No fee is published for takeaway orders paid on site.
Online payments
Online payments run on Zenchef Payment, Zenchef's own payment service, which the help centre says is powered by Adyen. The restaurant completes an identity and bank (KYC) check to activate it. Takeaway checkout accepts cards (CB, Visa, Mastercard), AMEX, Google Pay and Apple Pay, plus Bancontact for restaurants in Belgium and iDEAL in the Netherlands (marked as pending). Asking for payment at checkout is optional; otherwise guests pay on site. Pay At Table lets guests scan a table QR code and pay by phone with Apple Pay or card, split the bill and add a tip. It needs a supported POS; the help centre lists Zelty, Cashpad, Lightspeed K, Pointex, Micros and Clyo and says the list may change.

Includes: Own ordering website · Pickup · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Marketing tools · Multiple locations · Reservations

  • No commission on reservations, and the pricing FAQ says Click & Collect and Pay at Table are included in the plan and billed according to use.
  • Table reservations, prepayments and deposits, gift cards and a CRM sit in the same account as takeaway orders, with a waitlist from the Manage plan and email campaigns on Grow (pricing and payments pages).
  • The Takeaway module has order services with pickup periods, a maximum number of orders per 15-minute slot, preparation time, stock per service and optional online payment (help centre).
  • Ordering is limited. The help centre describes the Takeaway module for pickup orders only and does not mention delivery; for an online shop with delivery options the integrations page points to a third-party tool (Sous). Zenchef's table QR codes are sold for viewing the menu and paying the bill (QR menu page).
  • The Takeaway module is not connected to the POS. It does not handle VAT or issue invoices, so staff must record each order in the till (help centre).
  • There is no free plan. The cheapest plan is 129 EUR a month in France and Belgium (99 EUR in the Netherlands), the website is a 29 EUR a month add-on, the Marketing Suite is not available on Reserve and is a paid option on Manage, and online card payments cost 6% on Reserve (pricing pages).

6. Favrit

Norwegian restaurants, bars and cafés that want the till, QR table ordering, reservations and commission-free takeaway ordering in one approved POS.

Favrit is a Norwegian cloud POS for restaurants, bars, cafés, food halls and hotels, with reservations, QR table ordering and commission-free takeaway. It is priced from 899 NOK a month with 0% commission.

Favrit Payments runs card acquiring through Adyen or F1 (a Norwegian acquirer for BankAxept plus Elavon for international cards). Guests can pay with Vipps, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, BankAxept, cash or invoice. Softpay turns Android devices into card terminals. Nets appears in the integrations list, but the FAQ says Favrit does not use Nets as its acquirer.

Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Online payments · POS · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations

  • No commission on online orders and no per-transaction fee from Favrit itself; only the acquirer's card fees apply (homepage and FAQ).
  • QR table ordering, mobile ordering and online takeaway/pickup orders run in the same system as the till. Guests order in the phone browser with no app or login, pay in the same flow, and orders go straight to the right kitchen or bar.
  • Built for Norwegian rules: an approved cash register system, automatic Z-reports to the Norwegian Tax Administration's requirements, and 18 accounting systems supported out of the box (Tripletex, PowerOffice, Fiken, Visma, Xero and others). Norwegian support answers every day.
  • Only a starting price is published (NOK 899 a month per venue, excl. VAT). The final price, setup cost and hardware are quoted per venue, and Favrit says there is no published list price.
  • Made primarily for Norway: support and onboarding are in Norwegian, and there is no self-serve sign-up — venues book a demo or ask for a quote.
  • Contract terms are stated inconsistently: one page says no binding period, month to month; the FAQ says agreements typically start with a binding period set in each contract.

7. Superb

Restaurants in Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Italy that want POS, card payments, reservations and pick-up ordering from one supplier.

Superb is a Danish all-in-one platform: an iPad POS with its own card terminal, table reservations, online gift cards, email marketing and online takeaway ordering. The Plus plan is quote-only; takeaway orders carry no commission, with a 5% fee on online payments.

Online payments
Superb processes payments itself, both at its own card terminals and online. It says it takes "any payment method – online or in your restaurant" with next-day payout. Its integrations page lists Apple Pay, Google Pay, Vipps and GetYourBill as payment methods. The underlying acquirer is not named on the site or in the terms.

Includes: Own ordering website · Pickup · Online payments · POS · Marketing tools · Reservations

  • One platform covers the POS, card terminal, reservations, online gift cards, email marketing and online takeaway. Takeaway orders go straight to the POS and kitchen, and the restaurant adds a takeaway link to its own website with no integration needed.
  • Superb says it takes no commission on takeaway orders.
  • The Go plan costs €0 a month (0 kr in Denmark and Norway), with no terminal rent and a 0.99% IC++ fee that covers debit, credit and corporate cards. Plus lowers the fee to 0.75%.
  • Online takeaway is only in the Plus plan, and Plus has no published price. The pricing button opens a lead form. The free Go plan is POS and card terminal only.
  • The terms of service (last updated 01/09/2026) charge 5% on all online transactions and €199 excl. VAT per card terminal at contract signature, although the pricing page shows terminal rent as free. International and commercial cards cost 3% if surcharging to guests is switched off.
  • The pricing page says '0 months' contract, but the terms need 3 months' written notice to cancel, paid in full with no refunds. The terms also allow a price rise of up to 5% a year, a €59 monthly shortfall fee if card volume falls below the agreed level (all in-store revenue must go through Superb terminals), and a €399 charge for each terminal not returned within 10 days.

How we scored them

Every score, so you can check the order.

Ranked by total score. Menuthere is our product and ties for the top score (10 of 10), but we never rank our own product first, so it sits second; resmio takes first on the same score. Ties below are broken by whether reservations are on a free plan, then by the lowest published monthly price. Many small restaurants also use a free public tool such as Google reservations; this list is for systems that take bookings on the restaurant's own page.

When a rival is the better choice

Pick another system over Menuthere if…

  • resmio: You are in the DACH region and want reservations and ordering set up for the local market, on a free plan to start.
  • Karma: You are in Sweden and want the till, reservations, loyalty and takeaway ordering from one supplier.
  • Eats365: You are in Asia-Pacific and want the POS, reservations and online ordering from one iPad system, starting on a free plan.
  • Zenchef: You run a sit-down restaurant in France or the Benelux and reservations and guest management matter more than online ordering.
  • Favrit: You are in Norway and want an approved POS with reservations and QR ordering in one system.
  • Superb: You are in the Nordics or Italy and want the POS, card terminal and reservations from one supplier.

How we chose them

What put a system on this list.

  • A system qualifies if its dated profile on Menuthere says it takes table reservations, it is active, and its own "best for" or summary names small, independent, sit-down or café venues rather than only chains.
  • Each system is scored on five criteria worth up to 2 points each (10 in all). The rubric and every score are in the table above, and each point comes from a fact in the system's profile.
  • Card processing is left out of the scores because any system that takes a deposit charges it. Prices are each company's published prices on the date in its profile.
  • Nobody paid to be on this list. Prices change: check each company's own page before you sign.

Questions

Answered, plainly.

It depends on where you are and whether you also want online ordering. resmio and Menuthere score highest here because both take bookings on a free or low-cost plan with no per-booking fee and also take online orders. In the Nordics, Karma, Favrit and Superb pair reservations with a POS; in France and the Benelux, Zenchef focuses on reservations.

Yes. resmio (free BASIC plan), Karma and Eats365 (free Biz-Lite) all include reservations on a free plan. Menuthere includes reservations from its Lite plan at $17 a month, alongside a free plan that covers 50 orders a month for ordering.

The systems here mostly charge a monthly fee rather than a per-cover fee on bookings. Some charge fees on orders or online payments instead — resmio charges 4% on pickup and delivery orders and 2% on QR table orders, and Superb charges 5% on online payments — but those apply to orders, not to the table bookings.

Yes. resmio, Menuthere, Karma, Eats365 and Favrit take table bookings and online or QR orders in the same dashboard, so a small restaurant does not need a separate ordering tool. Zenchef focuses on reservations with simple pickup ordering.

Among systems with a published price, resmio is €69.90 a month, Favrit from 899 NOK, Karma from 995 SEK, Zenchef from €129, and Eats365 from $25 a month on an annual term; Menuthere's Lite is $17 a month. resmio, Karma and Eats365 also take bookings on a free plan.
