Owner.com pricing in 2026: Flexible vs Flat Rate, and what you really pay
Updated October 20, 2026
Owner.com has two plans: Flexible at $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee on every order, and Flat Rate at $499 a month with no restaurant fee (pricing page, read October 20, 2026). On both plans your guests also pay a 5% "order support fee" at checkout. The two plans cost the same at $5,000 a month in online sales, so above that Flat Rate is cheaper. Owner does not publish its card processing rate. For a restaurant taking 600 online orders a month at $30, that works out to about $1,201 a month on Flat Rate once card fees are counted (using Stripe's list rate as a stand-in), and about $1,851 on Flexible.
In short
- Two plans, same features: Flexible $249/month + 5% of each order; Flat Rate $499/month, no restaurant fee. Owner says "Both plans include all of our features."
- Guests pay 5% on both plans. Owner calls it an order support fee that "covers fulfillment and customer service."
- Break-even is $5,000 a month in online sales. Below that, Flexible costs less; above it, Flat Rate does. Owner's own pricing card says Flat Rate is "Best for restaurants at $5k+/mo in online sales."
- Card processing rate: not published. Payments run through your own Stripe account linked to Owner, or through Owner Payments.
- No contract: month to month, no cancellation fees, switch plans anytime. Owner keeps 5% of each gift card sale.
What does Owner.com cost in 2026?
US prices from owner.com/pricing, read October 20, 2026. Owner sells through a demo; there is no self-serve sign-up or free plan on the page.
| Plan | Monthly price | Restaurant fee per order | Guest fee per order | What's included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flexible | $249 | 5% | 5% order support fee | Every feature: AI-optimized website, online ordering, branded mobile app, automated SEO pages, loyalty and rewards, AI email and text marketing, catering orders, setup and migration with a dedicated specialist, chargeback protection, 24/7 support |
| Flat Rate | $499 | None | 5% order support fee | Same features as Flexible |
| Multi-location | Special rates | Not published | Not published | Owner says "Special rates available for multi-location" |
Billing is month to month on both plans. Owner's FAQ says there are "no long-term contracts or commitments" and "no cancellation fees", and you can switch plans anytime. Owner's Restaurant Participation Agreement says your cancellation must reach Owner before the renewal date to avoid the next month's charge, and that Owner can change pricing on 30 days' notice. In Canada the same two plans are priced in Canadian dollars (the page has a CAD toggle).
What fees come on top of the plan?
| Fee | What Owner publishes (read October 20, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Restaurant fee | 5% per order on Flexible; none on Flat Rate |
| Guest order support fee | 5% per order on both plans, paid by the guest |
| Card processing | Rate not published. Payments go through your restaurant's own Stripe account linked to Owner (one per location), or Owner Payments. Owner's help center says your "processing rate and fees" don't change when you switch to Owner Payments |
| Setup and migration | Included on both plans; no setup fee on the pricing page (the agreement allows one only "as indicated on the Pricing Page") |
| Hardware | Tablets and printers can be loaned; the agreement allows a monthly fee per loaned device only as shown on the pricing page (none shown). Lost or damaged loaned devices are charged at replacement cost |
| Delivery | Third-party drivers at "about $7" a delivery, charged to you "at no markup"; Owner suggests guests pay delivery on orders under $30 and that you cover about $3 on larger orders. Your own drivers cost nothing extra from Owner |
| Gift cards | Owner keeps 5% of each gift card sale as a "processing and services fee" |
| Contract and cancellation | Month to month; no cancellation fee; return loaned tablets within five business days of leaving |
The guest fee is the part most owners miss. It does not come out of your payout, but it raises every order your regulars place. On $18,000 a month of online orders it adds about $900 a month to your guests' bills, on either plan. Owner's argument is that marketplace apps charge guests "fees up to 15%", so 5% is still cheaper for them.
Flexible or Flat Rate? The break-even point
Flexible costs $249 plus 5% of your online sales. Flat Rate costs $499. The two meet where 5% of sales equals $250, which is $5,000 a month in online sales. At a $30 average order that is about 167 orders a month, or five or six a day.
| Online sales a month | Flexible ($249 + 5%) | Flat Rate ($499) | Cheaper plan | Guests also pay (5%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | $349 | $499 | Flexible, by $150 | $100 |
| $5,000 | $499 | $499 | Same | $250 |
| $10,000 | $749 | $499 | Flat Rate, by $250 | $500 |
| $18,000 | $1,149 | $499 | Flat Rate, by $650 | $900 |
| $30,000 | $1,749 | $499 | Flat Rate, by $1,250 | $1,500 |
Before card processing. At $18,000 a month, picking Flexible instead of Flat Rate costs $7,800 a year. Owner's FAQ says some restaurants "start on Flex and move to Flat" as orders grow, and switching is allowed anytime.
Worked example: 600 online orders a month at $30
One US restaurant, 600 online orders a month, $30 average order, all paid by card online. That is $18,000 a month in card volume. Owner doesn't publish its card rate, so we use Stripe's US list rate of 2.9% + 30¢ as a benchmark: $522 + $180 = $702 a month. Your rate on Owner may differ.
We add a Menuthere column at our Branded App plan, because Owner includes a branded app on both plans. Menuthere also uses your own Stripe account, so the same $702 benchmark applies.
| Monthly cost | Owner Flexible | Owner Flat Rate | Menuthere Branded App |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription | $249 | $499 | $99 |
| Restaurant fee (5% × $18,000) | $900 | $0 | $0 (0% commission) |
| Card processing (Stripe benchmark) | $702 | $702 | $702 (your own Stripe account) |
| You pay each month | $1,851 | $1,201 | $801 |
| You pay in year one | $22,212 | $14,412 | $9,414 billed yearly ($990 + $8,424), or $9,612 monthly |
| Guests pay on top (5% order support fee) | about $900 a month, $10,800 a year | about $900 a month, $10,800 a year | No Menuthere fee |
The example leaves out delivery, taxes and tips, and any card fee charged on the guest fee itself. If 100 of the 600 orders went out with Owner's third-party drivers at about $7 each, add about $700 a month, part of which you can pass to guests.
What this shows: at this volume, Flat Rate is clearly the right Owner plan, and card processing is the second-biggest line on every option. Ask Owner for your card rate in writing during the demo.
When is Owner.com worth the price?
Owner sells a done-for-you growth service, not just software. It is the stronger choice if:
- You want a team to build and run your online presence. A dedicated specialist handles setup and migration, and Owner builds SEO pages and runs automated email and text campaigns for you. Menuthere has no email or text marketing campaigns; you run your own store.
- You sell well online already. Above $5,000 a month, Flat Rate is a fixed $499 with no restaurant fee, and features like catering ordering, loyalty and chargeback protection are included.
- You want orders in your existing POS. Owner connects to POS systems such as Clover, Toast and Square. Menuthere has no Toast, Square or Clover integration in the US.
- You want 24/7 support included in the plan.
It is weaker if your online sales are small (the $249 floor plus 5% is a lot at $1,000 a month), or if you don't want a 5% fee added to your guests' orders.
How does Menuthere's pricing compare?
Menuthere is a self-serve ordering system with 0% commission and no per-order fee on every plan, and no fee added to your guests' orders.
- Free $0: 50 orders a month, ordering website, QR codes and table ordering, no card needed.
- Lite $17/month: unlimited orders, your own domain, online payments through your own Stripe account, coupons, pre-orders, table booking.
- Pro $39/month: adds WhatsApp order updates from your own number, a loyalty card, reviews, and your own riders with an iOS and Android rider app and a live tracking map. You assign each order to a rider by hand. In the US, Meta does not deliver WhatsApp marketing messages to +1 numbers, so WhatsApp sends order updates (utility messages, about $0.0034 each, billed by Meta with no markup) but not promotions; use email for offers. More in WhatsApp ordering in the USA.
- Branded App $99/month: Pro plus your own Android and iOS customer app.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Owner.com cost per month?
Owner.com's pricing page lists two US plans: Flexible at $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee on each order, and Flat Rate at $499 a month with no restaurant fee. Both plans include the same features, and guests pay a 5% order support fee on both. Owner offers special rates for multi-location groups.
Which Owner.com plan is cheaper, Flexible or Flat Rate?
It depends on your online sales. The plans cost the same at $5,000 a month, because 5% of $5,000 is $250 and $249 plus $250 is $499. Below $5,000 Flexible is cheaper; above it Flat Rate is cheaper. At $18,000 a month, Flat Rate saves $650 a month.
What is Owner.com's 5% order support fee?
It is a fee your guests pay on every online order, on both plans. Owner says it covers fulfillment and customer service. It is separate from the 5% restaurant fee on the Flexible plan, so on Flexible a $30 order carries $1.50 from you and $1.50 from the guest.
What is Owner.com's credit card processing rate?
Owner does not publish it. Guests' payments go through your restaurant's own Stripe account linked to Owner, or through Owner Payments, and Owner says your processing rate does not change when you switch. Ask for the rate in writing during the demo.
Does Owner.com have a contract or cancellation fee?
No. Owner bills month to month with no long-term contract and no cancellation fees, and you can switch plans anytime. Your cancellation has to reach Owner before your renewal date, and any loaned tablet or printer must be returned.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Owner.com with no guest fee?
Menuthere charges 0% commission, no per-order fee and no fee to your guests. Lite is $17 a month with card payments through your own Stripe account, and Branded App, with your own Android and iOS app, is $99 a month. Owner includes more done-for-you marketing, such as SEO pages and automated email and text campaigns.
