Squarespace alternatives for restaurants with online ordering that's built in.
Squarespace makes beautiful restaurant websites, but it has no food ordering of its own: you connect Allday Ordering, ChowNow (US and Canada only, Core plan and up) or Tock, or add an Order now link to another service. The simplest fix is often to keep Squarespace and link to Menuthere (free plan, then $17 a month, 0% commission). Other alternatives are Square Online, Wix Restaurants and ChowNow.

How it works today
How a Squarespace restaurant takes orders.
Squarespace's own help page on restaurant sites lists the options: a menu block for your menu, Allday Ordering to add ordering and order management, a ChowNow page for online orders, Tock blocks for reservations and ordering links, and OpenTable blocks for reservations. For any other service, you add a navigation link called Order now.
Two things to know. Squarespace says extensions fall outside its support, so ordering problems go to the extension's maker. And ChowNow on Squarespace works only in the United States and Canada, on Core, Plus, Advanced and older Business and Commerce plans. - Menu blocks are a premium feature: they need a paid Squarespace plan.
- Tock is a separate subscription and works with any Squarespace plan.
- ChowNow needs its own ChowNow account: from $229 a month on an annual term, plus a setup fee.
- An Order now link works on any plan and with any ordering service, including Menuthere.

Squarespace has a 14-day free trial. The 2% transaction fee on Basic applies to products, services and donations sold through Squarespace's own store; orders taken in ChowNow, Allday or Menuthere are charged by that service instead.

A worked example
A restaurant with 500 orders a month: ChowNow or Menuthere behind Squarespace?
500 online orders a month at $32 each ($16,000 in card payments), in the US, paid monthly. Both keep the same Squarespace Core site. Prices read 20 October 2026.

The difference is the ordering plan: $249 against $17 a month. ChowNow's price also covers services such as branded mobile apps (ChowNow lists a $99 a year Apple developer fee for them); Menuthere's own app is its Branded App plan at $99 a month. On ChowNow's annual term, Launch is $229 a month.
Be fair to Squarespace
When Squarespace is the right home for your site.
Squarespace's templates and design control are its strength. If your website is part of your brand, with photography, a story, events and a blog, keep it. Menuthere won't give you that design freedom; it builds a menu-first ordering site.
What Squarespace lacks is ordering of its own. Adding Menuthere behind an Order now button keeps your design and gives you food ordering, QR tables and WhatsApp without moving your site. See Squarespace for restaurants for the setup.

- Menuthere wins on built-in food ordering, QR tables, delivery by distance and WhatsApp at a fixed low price.
- Menuthere has no kitchen display screen, no delivery-app integration and only a basic POS ($10 a month add-on).
