Can I add an email to my WhatsApp account so I can get back in if I lose access?

Yes. Add and verify an email in Settings, Account, Email Address. If you re-register your number, the verified email helps you recover the account.

• Open Settings, then Account, then Email Address. WhatsApp sends a code to the address to confirm it is yours.
• You can add an email at any time.
• A verified email lets you recover your account if you re-register your phone number.
• Registration codes otherwise go only by SMS or phone call. Email works only if it is already on the account.
