Can I change the wording of a WhatsApp verification code message?
Updated 13 October 2026
No. WhatsApp fixes the main line of an authentication template. You can only add a security line and set an expiry time for the code.
- Fixed line: the text “<code> is your verification code.” is preset and cannot be customised.
- Security line: an optional disclaimer you can switch on.
- Expiry line: an optional “This code expires in <NUM_MINUTES> minutes”, set with code_expiration_minutes. Previews accept 1 to 90 minutes.
- Offers and order details: they cannot go in this message. Send them in a separate message.
Keep order details in their own messages
Order confirmations and status updates are separate automatic messages on Menuthere's WhatsApp ordering, sent from your own number. You never squeeze order details into a code message.
